At any rate, must get some of these during my next visit!

Also, how do you like the RID Mega/Galvatron? I think that's the one I got (two-headed dragon, yes) -- I'd love to see how you go about transforming him into his extra forms, if you've given it a shot. I think that his lack of certain features and articulation makes many of the transformations more/less impossible, but I've managed to wrangle him into faux griffin and elephant modes. :)

I think both of those are on the card backs. I've got my Galvatron into the Dragon mode but havent tried anything else. But he is big and fun!

Just scored a Devastator and the limbs of Bruticus at Big-Lots today.

However, compared to my Chinese chibi-Devastator that's 3/4 normal size, this one isn't as good. The plastic is warped, the stickers fall off, and many of the pins and even a couple of the screws aren't put in all the way. It doesn't stand up straight, either. Still, just the process of taking it apart and putting it back together again helped considerably. Still, the constructicons were plentiful, so this is a great opportunity for someone to copy kitbasher Devastator's masterpiece Devastator.

Here are some more photos of the giant Mini-Cons. I have 2 of the three to make a giant Star Saber.

If all of StarSaber is available it is a must have. I want at least 3 for my Supreme Bots!

I checked the shelves and they have the Star Saber and Energon Saber bots, but only 2 of the three. Still, the boxes say "series 01" in them, so I bought them hoping the hilts of the swords will be in the next series.

When you say that they only have two of the three, are you saying that they didn't have the third at this Big Lots or that the third isn't part of the series at all? (That is, is the final piece included amidst the drawings on the back of the card, or not?) Man it would be cruel if they released two of the necessary bots but declined to bootleg the third.

It is also cruel that I have none of these cherished knockoffs.

The photos on the back of all the series 1 boxes has pictures of 8 giant sized Mini-Cons on it. It's the Armada land military team, the middles and tips of the Star and Energon Sabers (no hilts), and one of the Adventure Team (Dune Runner, the one with the gun). Still since it says series 1, I'm hoping the giant sized hilts are in the next series. They don't mention being combiners on the instructions, but all the parts to connect them are there and they work fine.

Some more iddities I noticed is they remolded Energon Scattor (the middle of the Energon Saber). He's still yellow plastic, but he's been made to look like an F-16 (same jet as G1 Skydive). he even says "United States Air Force" on the paint.

They remolded this toy:

to look like this jet:

Another oddity is that all the jets only come in one color variant, but the land vehicles come in 2 color variants - green camo and brown camo. So technically there are not just 8 of them, there are 12 if you want one of each.

So I went back to that Big Lots today, and... ugh.

Not because I didn't get anything, but because between these two visits over the past four days I have spent more on bootleg TFs than I have on legitimate TFs in the past four months... INCLUDING the two pricey Revoltech figures I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Pictures of the new bootlegs coming soon, but suffice it to say that in addition to another Heinlad (the first one I got had two left hands!), the Dinobot wannabes, and several other acquisitions, I snagged a bunch of the Auto-Bots and giant military Mini-cons.

Of course, I probably wouldn't be doing this if Hasbro would get its act together and meet demand (and/or put more old Cybertron figures back on the shelves), but still.

I found another one I hasn't seen before "Space Warriors Transformers Construction-Bots". F05 2.50 you get a shrunken knockoff of Bendy Armada Prime (about scout size). They all were remolded to be different - wreckers, cement trucks, dump trucks, cranes, garbage trucks = 8 different models in 2 colors (red or orange). So that's 16 tiny variants of Armada Prime! I bought one for pictures, I'll post later.

Awesome! And if you look at the heads of your giant Saber components, you'll note that they too have the heads of bendy Prime... but they're not complete knockoffs. More complete knockoffs (complete with his impressive poseability?) sound bloody fantastic -- particularly the cement, dump, and garbage trucks, as they sort of have his "trailer" included in the robot form. That could be very neat for kitbashing purposes.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing pictures of these construction bots!

The seaplane is Waterwalk and the boat in Man-o-War.

The original toys were made of better plastic and some metal.
