So does that mean that the ever-infamous "when we kill a character, it stays dead" mantra is out the window? Or am I just stupid?

Dude, it's Optimus Prime, he gets better.

You never know. They might pull an original movie and have Hot Rod Shot take over as boss monkey.

We won't know until next season, but there's probably a 99% chance he's alive.

Yeah, and Megatron survived ground zero of a space bridge explosion. Optimus is likely just mortally wounded but not quite dead yet.Stormwolf wrote:Mindmaster wrote:Stormwolf wrote:Mindmaster wrote:Sabrblade wrote:According to series writer Steven Melching, there will be no status quo in season 3.Stormwolf wrote:I wonder what the status quo is going to be in season 2 though.

They wouldn't do that because of the awesome that is Peter Cullen.

My own WAG? The last shot, when it looks like he's destroying the Ground/Space Bridge with the Star Saber? He's actually cutting off his arm, then jumping through.

How can he jump through when the ground/space bridge closed after Ratchet went through?

Was I the only one wondering what the heck the human military was doing while the Decepticons invaded Nevada? The only guy they ever seem to have to battle these things is Fowler. I know Optimus said that the human military wouldn't be able to match the decepticons, but it seems to me that Fowler, with one helicopter mind you, was able to hold is own against the entire Decepticon air fleet for a solid while.

I laughed while watching this with my 10 year old son. This episode was just filled with inconsistencies
Megatron could have just killed the Autobots, he did not hesitate with Dreadwing
Prime escaped being surrounded by a dozen Decepticons without a shot being fired from one
Prime used his blade for 10 seconds before Megatron even moved towards him
When Megatron does attack he forgot to drink his RedBull (slow)
Prime is not hurt despite taking a direct hit from the explosion
Prime could have used his cool blue wave to attack the Decepticon ship/fortress
Fowler takes off in a Huey without being hit despite 3 dozen Decepticons firing at them
Fowler singled handedly held off an alien army in a Huey helicopter ( a Huey )
The former unstoppable Insecticons were blowing up like fireworks from one shot
I could go on but its a kid show.... This should not be in the same continuity as WFC, FOC ....
It's a classic villain trait to have the heroes bear witness to the world they have come to call home be completely refit and have all that they have fought to protect be eradicated right before their eyes.padfoo wrote:Megatron could have just killed the Autobots, he did not hesitate with Dreadwing
He caught them off guard. Plus they were Vehicons. Not exactly the greatest of soldiers (unlike the silver ones we see later).padfoo wrote:Prime escaped being surrounded by a dozen Decepticons without a shot being fired from one
Megs didn't expect such a retaliation so soon, since he was getting full of himself when he started mechaforming Earth.padfoo wrote:Prime used his blade for 10 seconds before Megatron even moved towards him
It's a magic sword, you don't have to explain it.padfoo wrote:When Megatron does attack he forgot to drink his RedBull (slow)
Cuz he's Optimus Prime, nuff said.padfoo wrote:Prime is not hurt despite taking a direct hit from the explosion
He tried, remember? There were too many enemy troops in the way of his blast to make a hit. No matter how many they destroyed, more just kept coming.padfoo wrote:Prime could have used his cool blue wave to attack the Decepticon ship/fortress
Fowler has the power of plot convenience awesome.padfoo wrote:Fowler takes off in a Huey without being hit despite 3 dozen Decepticons firing at them
Like I said, he's just that convenient aweosome.padfoo wrote:Fowler singled handedly held off an alien army in a Huey helicopter ( a Huey )
We've seen that happen plenty of times before. It's called Conservation of Ninjitsu.padfoo wrote:The former unstoppable Insecticons were blowing up like fireworks from one shot
