Ok, positive thread to counter the last thread I made (in retrospect, something I regret)...

So, next film in the series? What would you like to see happen? Would it be a continuation or a reboot? Would you bring back any characters or introduce a new cast? I'll post my idea in a bit (after the thread's got some attention), but I'd like to see what direction the series should take from here in your opinion.

Note: This is not the place to spew hate about the current series. Save that for another thread.

I don't know...I'm really mixed on what should be done.
I'd really like to see a continuation. Michael Bay made me fall in love again with the toys I forgot, and I just really enjoy the way this continuity is presented.
HOWEVER, I'm the big "change monger" here, so I'd like to see something totally new at the same time. I think when continuities are stretched out long enough they get stale. Also, it would be nice to be rid of the Bay fights for a while.

Basically I had an idea I'll share with you all. Mind you I pulled this out of my arse over a course of five minutes so it's really rough around the edges. I'm making assumptions about how DotM will end here, so bear with me.

It would be a continuation of the current continuity set several decades later. The human cast would be all new (maybe the hero is related to Sam somehow, maybe not). Mankind is colonizing the solar system thanks to technology gained after the events of RotF and DotM (what with all those Decepticon corpses to examine).

The premise is that an Autobot ship appears in the solar system being chased by a ship belonging to a new race of beings, technorganic in nature and Lovecraftian in design. The race are called Quintessons, the ancient beings who created the AllSpark. They're coming to Earth to reclaim it and won't be happy when they find out it's gone. The Autobots and their human allies would have to search for the surviving remnants of the Decepticons in order to form an uneasy truce, because the next target of the Quintessons will be the AllSpark's creations, the Transformers.

I figure this would be a planned trilogy unlike the first three films. The space based setting would also allow for Unicron to show up eventually.

Now that I'm done nerding out I'll hand the floor back to other posters. Use of Quintessons, by the way, is based on their G1 status as the Transformer's creators.

A few other things I'd throw in:
* Set it in the year 2084. I can't honestly say I believe the world would be that much more futuristic - seriously, 70 to 80 years ago everybody was being told we'd have flying cars and personal jetpacks by now, where are they? - and we haven't learned not to kill each other yet, and by showing that the Earth has been just ripped to shreds by the 'Cons it would solve a lot of the problems that all those futuristic tropes might otherwise create. They might still have the Internet and cell phones in this time, but the situation that humankind would face at this point might actually make them utterly useless.
* If this were to be the first in a series of films, then I'd want the sequels to follow the same basic template of basically being Transformerized remakes of old Westerns. The 'beast' TFs (Dinobots, Insecticons, Sharkticons, etc.) would basically fill the type of roles usually reserved for Indian tribes way back in the day; also, spaghetti-Westerns would have to have their moment - at a certain point we'd run up against Rodimus Prime, and he would basically be 'The Mech With No Name', and he does NOT get along with Optimus Prime or any other Autobot.

This is pretty much where i'm at as well. The movies brought me back to what i loved as a kid.
a continuity would be cool. But i wouldn't mind a different interpatation as well. Though its going to be hard to match the action and explosions that bay does.

As far as the "Bay fights", I hear ya. But this will happen no matter what director is used. Ones views is always at some point or another going to cross that of someone elses.

As far as ideas,... I dunno. I've always wanted to see Hound in the movies, as well as Trailbreaker.

Yeah I really think it will be hard for another team to top Bay. Really I do. I think if we do get a new film continuity the Bay series will become "the original films" and with that it may be hard to adapt to a new series. And yes, there probably will be new fights with a new series. However, I think it will be somewhat different. We might get Bay fans vs. new movie fans that will take the place of G1 vs. Bayverse. I still think we'll get quite a few that will whine about it not being G1 enough, but they'll be overshadowed by the ones comparing the new films to the originals.

I've put up a list of my feelings in the "if you were busting to tell the moviekakers something,and then they asked you what direction you felt they should take something, what would you say?" thread.I won't repeat them (but if you check it, see 'On Directors', Sam & Carlys Baby,Optimus Primes' baby & gangs of young Autobots in a civilian Bot population,Keep Megz healing SLOWLY & 'Stay away from Unicron', all in the opening post).

New stuff now that we've seen 2 trailers:

*If the Ark animates in this film (Dotm), it'll be hard to stay away from Cybertron. Otherwise, it (repairing [or replacing] the Ark) can be a next-trilogy sub-plot driver.(Note that Optimus doesn't technically inherit the Ark if Sentinel survives, and the Wreckers are theoretically Earthbound unless it gets fixed or another ship arrives-assuming the comet-thing modes can't break orbit,that is).

*I'd hate to see it, but the military attempting to replicate TFs is logical progression (as would the fact that they would be slower and generally useless against Transformers).

*Cyber Planet Keys.Limited Energon supplies & guzzling bridges can keep the story centred on Earth but still expand the toy lines & mythos.

*Straxus.

*Insecticons pick up Primes signal & invade Earth as a swarm(Energon!!).The Autobots fight them while Megz spends the Trilogy regaining power base.

*Megz,still in Vagrant mode,populates the Earth will Combaticons.They eventually sneak into the Earths entire military structure & hammer it when a certain command is given.The chaos is the entry window for some mega-bot (eg:Trypticon).The Autobots are forced to fight them alone(Blaster is in by now with his own miniBots to Shuriken them at Trypticon) but tougher Autobots are needed.Enter the Dinobots .THE ORIGINAL WAY.

*Mudflap & Skids say Michael Bay is a Dufus and they didn't get Rotf on screen.Michael Bay tries to kill them off,attacking them with 6 million Constructicons (and 1 Barricade) who all look the same and all died in the previous movie.The Autobots band around the twins.Will they survive? In the swirling chaos of battle, Megatron dives in and steals the fallens' face back from Optimus.What will the Autobots do now?

*Nemesis Prime, or Starscreams proper Seeker Squadron.I'd say all the plots re: TFs involvement with Pre-2007 Earth are done to death.So, objectives? Why, ENERGON, of course!

*Personal preferences: A plot device whereby Megz is still a vagrant and Starscream is still alone. Some event (a failed reactivation of Shockwave?An impact by both Trypticon and Fort Max? A freak Solar Storm?) results in an EMP blast shutting down the majority of the Autobots and Cons. For half a movie, there's a running pokemon-cassete-bot duel between Soundwave and Blaster/Broadblast, with Sam and Carly caught in the middle.

*More WARRIORS.Not Soldiers,Commandos,Wreckers,Mechtech or Elite Bluestreak look Bumblebee,but WARRIORS.Followd up beautifully with Prowl,Red Alert and Smokescreen to round out the attack ranges (Point blank,mediate,long).

Fan Dumb:
*A trilogy long,Earth-wide,National treasure/Davinci code type quest based on fuzzy ancient records concerning the Cube/Allspark.Both Autobots and Deceps assume the final assembled relic is from the era of the 7 Primes and race for it,but discover instead the relic is a key to the tomb of TigerHawk(or some other non Cybertronian govt ambassador).He tells them that Earth was Quintesson territory which the 7 Primes won.Trilogy ends.New trilogy begins: Quintesson war, wherein the first Unicron Heralds also rock up to set up the next Trilogy(the preparation for the arrival of Unicron).

*A Highlander style mega battle between all the Combiners.Each Combiner who kills another gets all his parts.Jolt has an Electronic Nanovirus available to his Electrowhip fuel tanks that can de-magnetize a Combiner permanently,but if the combiner is too big,the required charge will drain Jolt of all his Life-force and kill him.

I would love to see this happen on the next one.

so now the decepticons are leaderless on there home planet a civilwar happens where lets say 5 new clans emerge and start killing the hell out of each other and a few try to escape end up on earth where optimus prime(the man)decides he has to get back and save his race, So lots of robots killing each other and most of the film based on cybertron. I hope it was not destroyed in the last 1 just that it was sent back.

My idea, (Some of you may have already seen it on TFW forums, I'm Fitch there.)

Having felt betrayed by the humans for exiling them from Earth in DOTM, most of the Autobots have went their separate ways on Earth. Only Optimus remains with Nest to help trackdown and destroy the remaining decepticons. We learn that Optimus sent Cosmos to find a suitable replacement for Cybertron during the war (This would be before the Ark leaves, but after he lauched the All Spark into space.) Cosmos finds a planet but Unicron comes along and destroys/consumes it. He flees the planet with the last survivor, which is a biological alien. He some how crashes on 1947 Earth at Roswell, N.M. (wormhole involved), Optimus learns of this somehow. (Seems the Ark on the moon wasn't the only thing kept from him by the humans.) After reviving Cosmos with the Matrix, he tells Optimus about Unicron. Optimus somehow learns more about Unicron from the Matrix, he learns the All Spark created Unicron.

After learning of his master's defeat. Igor (He's smarter that he seems cause Megatron was using him as a spy to spy on the Decepticons to make sure they remain loyal to him, and the dumbness was part of his disguise) revives all the decepticon Seekers on Earth with help from the remaining decepticons from the moon, and seeks revenge for his master being killed. All the main Decepticons from DOTM (Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave), were trashed with the Nemesis on the moon of Saturn after the events of DOTM.

NASA or the military detects something near Saturn's moon from Earth, it's Unicron. Unicron finds and rebuilds Megatron as Galvatron, and restores the other main decepticons to their former selves and the Nemesis. Unicron tells Galvatron if he'll destroy the Matrix, its the only thing that can stop him, (yes like in Transformers the Movie.) that he'll restore Cybertron. Galvatron agrees and he and the others come back to Earth, and join the Seekers and Igor. After Optimus learns of Megatron's return to Earth as Galvatron he sends Bumblebee (Who is now back with Sam) to try and convince the other Autobots to return. Sam and Carly would go along with him since they trust them.

That's all I have so far, Sam and Carly would be planning their Wedding in the beginning.

There'd also be a scene where new Autobots come to Earth in a new ship.

I'll most likely write a Fan-fic.

Sam gets injured and has to have his consciousness transferred to a new body in order for the doctor to be able to cure him. The body is robotic and built from spare parts. However, something goes wrong and Sam attacks the Autobots and even his own dad, who can't seem to get through to him. Eventually, the doctor cures Sam and the Autobots work everything out. Sam makes up with his dad and life continues as normal.

Nobody here can come up with an idea more original than that.

*I'd hate to see it, but the military attempting to replicate TFs is logical progression (as would the fact that they would be slower and generally useless against Transformers).

This happened in The Reign of Starscream. They were called "Landmines" and jammed mid-transformation.

Don't know exactly what I want for the plot but I do want the Autobots to no longer be exclusively assisting the USA. Build Autobot City! Form their own nation! I want to see the Autobots actually form a home on Earth and then lets chuck the big bad in.

one of the raptor pilots from the first movie gets all emo about starscream killing off two of his buddies. works with his tech buddy to modify his raptor to be up to par with the transformers (being able to transform) and goes of to kick all sorts of ass while screaming "DARYLLLLLL!!!!!" and "HOWARDOOO MASONNNNNNN!!!!!!"

Some things sticking in my head, mostly of a continuation sorts.

DOTM showed too much of Dillon's mother, so I'm thinking she may be a plot ploy for the next movie. She takes control of the company, and secretly starts to play God with some of the remaining dead Decepticons. Something horrible comes from that.

Optimus Prime contracts some sort of a virus that turns him into an evil state.

OK you proberly arn't gona' like this but I do(this is rough):
there would be 4 more movies.
The first one would have,Autobot's:Ironhide,Jass,Bluestreak,Gears,Brawn,Mirage(prober mirage)There the main autbot's and these are the side autobot's:Pirme,BB,Rachet,Dino,Sideswipe and the rest of the surviving autobot's.
This would focus more on the con's.The would wake up in a void, a strange place and here a vocie say"welcom".They are in the well of all sparks(transformers Heaven),so we could have any transformer we would like.It would focus about the dead autobot's,who are held captive escaping back the the living worldand the rivalry between starscream and megatron.Starscream would have his own band of Decepticon's which were the combaticon's,Slipstrem,Skywarp,Thundercracker,misfire,slugslinger,triggerhappy,sunstorm,acidstorm and the coneheads.Starscream and Megatron would fight and starscream woul badly injure Meagatron and him and his decepticons would escape into the living world and ironhide and jass would and worn Prime of the decepticon uprising Megatron be locked up because he was too weak to lead after starscream and starscream would kill soundwave befor he left.Megatron would be replased by Galvatron as leader.

Movie 5
In movie 5 the decepticons track starscream down(by the way the con'slook like there G1 self's)As he was having his corination as ruler of the univers.Galvatron kills him like in G1(bY THE WAY IN THE 4th one galvatron masters Dark Energon).All the decepticons follow Galvatron to Earth and attemp to conour the world so it could be there new home.

Movie 6
The decepticons that used to follow starscream go and revive him and find that he is a ghost because his spark is indestructible and his new pet squawktalk(soundwave abandand him be for he died)Starscream is revived an has mastered dark energon because when he was shot his spark fused with it.All the autobots get to Earth, so does starscream and he concour's Earth after killing Galvatron and starscream fuses Earth's core with Dark Energon.
By the way, through out the whole movie starscream weres a crown that look's like his G1 crown.Starscream turns Prime into Nemisis Prim with Dark Energon.

Movie 7 the last movie
The autobots are barly alive,Optimus(Nemisis) nealy kills ironhide,then prime free's himself and is good and he fights starscream and starscream is about to kill him but gets shot through the chest by...MEGATRON!!!who escaped from prison.Him and screamer fight and megatron chuck's starscream under a skyscraper while a badly injured Prime waches.Starscrem talks about ruling the univers and then Megatron say's "Like always starscream,you talk so big(shoot's skyscraper and it falls)When every think about you is so(building colapses on screamer and explodes killing him)small,Ha Ha Ha"walk's away and fight's Prime and prime kills meg's and all the decepticons are killed.
In the end only Prime,ironhide,grimlock,jass and bumblebee(just),survive.
After the credits are over screamer blast outs off the skyscraper flying into space yelling "MEGATRON!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Thats how it ends in my imagination.
