(especially as there are *WAY* too many bots who should be lvl 1 who aren't)
This.
If everyone jumped into level 1 that could, you wouldn't be seeing as much brutality in the logs. Plain and simple.

Wait long enough, I'll be doing the one-shots on you WITH MY DOLPHIN!

An example I personally know of would be the decpeticon Kick Axe.
He doesn't play much but he just recently got his first couple level 1's (biggest one is 14K) even in his worst missions (as long as he's not shut out) he's making way more than at level 0
Kick Axe is beast. Gave me hell at level 0 Glad to know he's hitting big!
So, I'll give this to you straight, Light Metal. There are only a small handful of 'Bots that deploy in the 1-4 range. Of those 4 or 5 people, our timezones/time-to-play don't match up well. I'm used to deploying in 1v5s. But you know what? It can be a lot of fun. You don't even need specific builds to do this, because it's all based on rng.
Here are two examples of rng at its finest in regular missions: Example 1 and Example 2. You'll see terrible rng at the beginning of each of these, then amazing rng at the end. If not from me, take it from this classic that helped inspire me when I was much lower level.
As far as Hell Missions go, yea. You'll 0 out a lot. And sometimes, you may be the only one, but I've still had top xp just from pure rng luck. You'll never have the chance to succeed if you're too afraid to try.
Bun-Bun wrote:Sure the Bots have a different situation over there but a good example of how to make it big would be Wingz. When I came back to the game a couple months ago we were around the same place XP-wise (she might have been a bit lower) but while I screwed around with various crappy builds relying on backup to pull in XP she found builds that worked for being outmanned (avoiding, repair, strafe) and by not shying away from the 1-11 missions she hit big and has greatly surpassed me.
Meet Bun-Bun. This my rival in this game. He kicks ass. Usually yours. The end. True story
Being outnumbered has actually become quite fun for me. It makes testing those builds easier. As offered in Iacon, I'm more than happy to assist if you or any other newer 'Bots who need help figuring out what builds would work best for your playstyle and for what you want to do, especially with regard to avoiders and repairers. As soon as more people level to 1, I can support them in the 1-3 missions, but that is a limited time offer. I have a few level 3s that are 2-3 points from level 4 now, and only three attackers that are about to hit level 3. If you want to see how fast I gain xp, Sustain has created an amazing resource to show xp gains. Level 0 honestly just doesn't pay, aside from avoiding the brutality and hilarity of the real game.
As stated before, do whatever you find fun, but you'd be missing out to stay there.
