I have my boy Prowl in the MP mold. I did a little looking and there isn't very many G1 SS molds. G1, universe, CW and MP. There's the Alt/BT molds, but those aren't even on my radar.

If I double dip on MP molds I'll slide into the darkside with KOs. I think I'm about to start a trek down the rabbit hole of 3p bots soon anyway. Not the same but not too far off. Picking up all these older molds is really starting to turn me off what Hasbro is offering these days. I want something a little more fulfilling. I'm not quite sure what that is yet, but there's only one way to find out.

Anyways, I guess I'll hold out for a good price on the universe mold mostly because I have a butt load of the CW mold already. I wonder if there is any good 3p SS molds out there.

My biggest problem with most 3p is that they are of the larger MP scale. But we all know that scale in Transformer Land is a fool's errand. :-P

Well, I have a mostly destroyed G1 Smokescreen if you want him! And Alternator Smokescreen would be awesome!!

KOs for dupes are A O K with me. I'm still kicking around the idea of picking up a KO Silverstreak just to has. And that KO Bumblebee distracts baby girl from my two actual MP Bumblebees  The Seekers is where my money may go next..

I don't think I've seen any other than the Iron Factory or DX9 "Legends" scale Smokescreens. So that's a shame.

You know, Prime had a Smokescreen (that I'm sure you already have) ;)^

I think the 3P companies have a pretty good pulse on what is hot, they filled a HUGE gap in CHUG but then HasTak started producing the figures at a significantly reduced price (albeit not necessarily better) and now 3P is hitting up the MP side.

What REALLY amazes me about some of the KO companies is how they improve the figures when upscaling. All of those AoE figures that have been remade are significantly better than the originals, as far as quality goes. I'm such a fan of that AoE deluxe Bumblebee that I may be ordering him and the "Darkside" Lockdown..that matte paint on the Lamborghini looks AMAZING!!

@Cramalamadingdong (didn't feel like quoting)

Oh yeah, I do have the Prime Smokescreen. I think he was part of the beast hunters subline. Cool and surprisingly complicated figure. Squishes down to a very tight, compact and sexy sport car. I was tossing around the idea of getting the Prowl redeco, but I think I've changed my mind.

Yeah the KO market is really booming right now to the point were they are almost becoming brands. There is something with the Seekers that is confusing the hell out of me. I feel like there are two really well known KO lines that TF Direct sells.

There are quite a few 3p Coneheads that have my full attention at the moment as well, but I'f I was about to drop change on a 3p figure it'd be one of the new "Jazzes".

theres two different ko seeker companies
kbb and bb7
kbb is a bit cheaper and has a remolded crotch and hips from mp-03. all 3 of their seekers come with coronation gear a diecast megatron(downsized) gun 2 pilots a stand shootable null rays and diecast in the legs.there might be more idk.they copied the hasbro deco. except for starscream(i think.) basically toy accurate.

BB7 are cartoon accurate. they have a megatron gun like the one that came with soundwave missile pods a stand a pilot and thats all i think.
im not sure about there skywarp but i think it goes off the walscream version and its white.
both skywarp and thundercracker are cartoon accurate
heres the thread on tfw.
i would start one on here but im too lazy
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/k ... s.1058943/

benscollectables has reviews on them.
i could go into the coneheads but only if you want me too

So anywho, I'd say I'm more of a fan of Downbeat than J4zz. Of course, that's the GeeWun'er in me speaking. I needs that old Porsche to go with my Datsuns ;)^

As for the KO Seekers, like Bumblebee21 mentioned, each has their pros and (Decepti)cons as well. I really wouldn't mind having a Skywarp and Starscream that are slightly more stable, that MP3 molds legs are too wobbly. Here's two of Ben's videos.

Ah yes, good old KBBBB7Q. Doing the work of Primus. Seekers for the people and such. I'm glad they are both doing the different takes, but it does make it hard to choose. I love my Walmart MP Starscream, he's just too back-heavy to stand on those scrawny legs. I'll probably get the KBB with the coronation gear..

Speaking of TF-Direct, just got one of their promo emails and they have the BadCube Insection set for $160 shipped..temptinnggggg!!!

Since I saw it mentioned: Prime Smokescreen/Prowl is a pretty good mold that I enjoy. Now I did feel a bit of disappointment towards it for not having the wheels in the doors on the back and all the arm kibble, but is a great mold. I got the Prowl version as a present and that head is pretty sweet. I recommend both!

Nah, I'll pass. My collection goals have significantly changed over the past month. I've decided to focus on what ever I consider neo g1 and a few specialty collections like MP, Prime and WfC/FoC. RID15 is out and the Animated figures are probably going to hit the chopping block as well. I may keep a few shining examples from each, but I want to pair down the collection for both budgetary and space concerns.

I'm not a purist, but one of the limitations I've set is to get figures that best represent the character to me. For example figures that now combine that traditional didn't (CW Mirage) or figures that were not traditional Headmasters (TR Hot Rod). I'll be skipping a lot of TR at this point, with exception of a few figures that I don't mind having the TM gimmick (TR Astrotrain and a few others).

I was wondering aimlessly looking for a direction and fell into the quantity over quality rut. I was just throwing **** at the wall to see what stuck. It's good to have a direction and be able to just leave figures hanging on a peg. Of course now I have a good bit of sweeping up to do.

Swerve goes south of the border

Postby no-one » Mon Dec 12, 2016 12:27 pm

Two weeks ago we took a little trip to Tulum Mexico. Swerve tagged along of course. I'm just posting Instagram pics cause they're all nice and snap shotty. These are from my oft neglected #ontheroadwithswerve series. Well I'll let the pics do the talking and your imagination do the walking.

Bring your bots to work week

Postby no-one » Wed Dec 21, 2016 1:41 pm

Well I've been cooped up in the office for over a week now and I'm starting to get stir crazy. I've been bringing me some play pretties to work to break the monotony of it all.

First everyone's favorite trouble maker and some new friends tagged along.

Image

Love that little Joust looking guy!

Image

Image

That kitty/shield is nice too. Probably two of my favorite TMs yet.

Then this guy showed up. Mostly just stood around looking stoic.

Image

This two lovely ladies tagged along today.

Image

Then a KFC Tempest sword I ordered showed up and all hell broke loose.

Image

Image

Image

So badass!

So, who's going make the trip tomorrow :-?

Hahahaha

I do really like J4zz; I like the modern take on his alt mode and his bot mode looks great. Now what I do have a problem with is how he basically looks like a larger version of the RTS Jazz.

Downbeat is definitely more G1-icious and that alt mode is teh hotness, but I still think I prefer J4zz. What a world we live in, where the dilemma is which pricey toy you like better. The real question is: Am I dropping change on either? :-?
