  • Perceptor is missing the orange transparent plastic, is a different shade of red, and is missing the chrome on the knobs.
  • Wreck-Gar is bright red/yellow instead of Hasbro's dark red/brown.
  • Blurr is darker and more heavily saturated. The grill is different, the shoulders are different. The white is light blue. The guns look black, not brownish-gray.
  • Kup is metallic.

Kup also has a painted grill/abs.

The only one I'm uncertain about getting is Kup because I will be getting the eHobby release. That's the only reason I'm uncertain though. These figures look better than the Hasbro versions.

Looks like I'll be saving a lot of money. However, I have to sat that the red on perceptor is fantastic

United Perceptor's abs are painted/chromed as well, just like the G1 version. It's better than the Hasbro version, just not $20 better.

ARGH!!!! This has made things very complicated. I'm fairly confident I'll go for Takara's Perceptor. I prefer the absence of the clear orange, the brighter red and the fact that there's more going on in vehicle mode.

Wreck-Gar's a tough one. I know they've gone for a more G1 accurate scheme that emphasises his 'junk' origins, but the overall effect kind of makes me nauseous.

The whole painted wheel issue is a tad trivial I know, and a nice set of shiny black alloys do look great on the right car, but Hasbro's wheels do look really cheap. I think I'll have to wait for Seibertron's comparison shots so I can truely judge the differences in colours for Kup and Blurr.

Hasbro versions are really expensive over here in Tokyo so United wins 4-0 both in terms of quality of paint job and price for me.

All four of these figures look incredible. I just hope a 3rd party makes a G1 accurate, non-crappy head for Blurr to replace the piece of crap he has at the moment and the fix only flaw on what is an otherwise superb figure.

Sorry if anyone has already mentioned this idea, but does anyone else think that we might get a Shockwave repaint (with some remolding of course) out of Lugnut?
The different vehicle mode doesn't matter (same with RTS/United Soundwave, Perceptor, Rumble, Frenzy etc) and he is already the correct size and has a cyclops thing going on.

My god I hope not! The ONLY Shockwave I see in Lugnut is his cyclops eye and even that would probably get replaced by a new head.

Ha Ha ;-)
I certainly wasn't expressing any enthusiasm for the idea (although I would love a Classics Shockwave) just that it was a possibility.....I could see them doing it.
