Anyhoo...just gonna throw in a short review. Really enjoyed the film. Not gonna win any awards for writing but it never wanted to. All it sets out to be is a fun, summer blockbuster action movie and that's what it achieves. I've seen it twice already, mite go see it again and I'm definately buying the DVD. Screw all the crap about it "not being transformers" coz it is.
And before any of you nay-sayers start ripping this post apart, it's my opinion, I'm as right as any of you

I just got back from seeing it for the fourth time. :) I love G1 as does anyone my age. Granted, yes, this movie goes a completely different direction from G1 but at one point in the last 22 years has Transformers really kept to one continuity? Even any extensions of the original seem to get skewed between the comics and the cartoon.

Oh well, change is just something I've grown used to over the years. I like the film and can't wait to get the DVD and see the deleted stuff. Hopefully there'll be an uncut version. :)

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Some parts didn't work, some parts worked beautifully.

Awesome.

Pros:

The sheer violence of it. It was nice to see a movie that had so much humans death´s and transformers destruction.

Shia´s character was fun.

The humor, most of it was awsome.

Frenzy was awsome.

The designs were cool.

The final battle was cool.

The military were actullay competent. Most action films today depicte them as cannon fodder

Now for the bad parts:

Megan´s Foox´s character , plase laddie I know your hot and I would jump at you at first oportunity, but please go to acting school.

The camera mode. Had to see the movie a second time to see things better.

The Decepticons. One they had very few scree time and in the begining of the mvoie they were pounding everything and in the end they were getting their arses handed to them.

Jazz´s death. Could have been handled better.

The "magic SABOT" ammo. They couls have comoe up with someother explanation.

This ismy opinion. The movie is not a masterpiece by anymean, but is one of ther most awsome movies of this year. To all those detractor i say 590 milion in profits and to AK I say, a sequel as been confirmed so :P tou all the critics.

General, you are so right on Megan Fox. Gorgeous, gorgeous girl, but she looked like she was trying to remember her lines with that weird eye flutter thing she does. *flutter* "Like, are you an alien or something?" She couldn't act in Confessions of a Teen Age Drama Queen either, but she is gorgeous.

Disclaimer: I'm a girl, hence having seen Confessions of a Teen Age Drama queen. :-P

And I don't care what anyone says, the designs were awesome. I love Bumble Bee's new look. He went from cute to hot.

I notice that too.

Hot Megan Fox can't act.

She doesn't seem to know how to act with invisible bots on the set.

In fairness I think a few professional actors have trouble acting with something that isn't there. I remember in Attack of the Clones and the other lame Star Wars prequels there was a lot of bad acting due to actors not being able to see what they are dealing with (and because Lucas can't direct actors). Actors generally NEED something to react to.

As Megan Fox is more magazine model than actress, acting believably to something not there is probably one of the hardest things she's had to do.

They have props, poles, models, and stuff taking the place of the invisible bots to react to.

Megan simply not good enough for acting.

Fortunately, it's an action film. Requires less amount of acting talent. But still, Megan's inadequacy shows.

I know i'm not an actor myself, for critisizing these people. My acting talent is probably zero or somewhere 0.01 points. But i'm not receiving millions of dollars as salary.

No Megan Fox chara please

Postby Darkclyde » Sat Aug 11, 2007 7:54 am

my opinion was:

More than meets the eye.

I think megan fox character (i already forgot her name) is should be cut off from the movie because she didn't contribute anything essential beside eye-candy factor for the male audience.

she's a hot babe, i like her, but i don't like her in any TF universe at all...

second, there's no dynamics on the robo characters relation, i only see one scene where megatron insult starscream (at hoover dam), bonecrusher die way too fast (he only shown on 2 scene, the parking lot and the freeway), and whatever happen to jazz, i mean he breakdancin' and rappin' but after that he died just like that, no emotional death sequence at all, and Prime's characterization dealing with Jazz's death is really empty...

to my surprise, i really like Shia's acting in this movie, good work lad ... you fit spike's (in this case Sam) shoes perfectly.

Overall, for me it's a good action-blockbuster movie, but not really the TF Movie it should be ... that is more TF robot, more intrigue between robot (meg and Starscream clash for power), human-robot interaction (sam/spike with bumble).

I wish that Speilberg choose another director besides Bay for TF 2, i understand they made TF mostly to sell toyline but please make it memorable just like the old tv shows (G1-G2) and not just spur-of-the-moment-bang-buck kinda movie that Bay usually did.

to Bay, the movie title is Transformers so it should be more about transformers and less megan fox don't u think?

Afterall what makes TF universe still big and evolve until now is the fans who loves the transformers, and not because the babe with skimpy dress in a TF movie.

Ego Boost for Bay

Postby Darkclyde » Sat Aug 11, 2007 8:54 am

Well guys, i found this and majorly it shows what Bay's though a good movie should be according his own standard, and that is:

- big budget bang-for-ur-buck kinda movie
- major action sequence
- major special effect, big explosion
- romance
- major hot babe
- and so on and so forth and just mixed it all up

see it at:
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/37499

and so why i think Bay not suitable to make TF 1 and next TF 2, eventhough most people like TF movie, is because he made it just for the cash... call me sentimental but I think a good director should put his/her heart for the movie and that's why sometimes that movie becomes big, becomes somewhat a legend, an emotional experience that we still remember until now. U think it's bullsh!t? remember starwars? the experience still lives on till now...

I read this 2 year's old site and I laugh, it's funny how he is mad because a movie about penguins is more popular than his movie.

And that's way i think Sam Raimi, Chris Nolan, Tim Burton, even Peter Jackson (George Lucas ... hmmmm can't direct that good but still didn't steer to far from what ep. 4,5,6 starwars should be) are way above Bay as directors... because they know, like and even (try to) love the movies they were making.

You do realize that anything with the domain name of "theonion.com" is parody and intended to make you laugh, right? The Onion's been around longer than the modern Internet. It's not real.

TRansformers movie review

Postby Megamus primatron » Tue Aug 14, 2007 11:04 am

ID give it a 9/10 because they showed 2 hoursof human and 30 minutes of transformers. But stuff blows up good so that ups my rank.

Maybe they'll make a part 2 and 3. In which case the first movie would make a good 'origin' story. Explaining who they are.

The next film though should be primarily about the Autobot and the Decepticon war. If they can make a good war film with people fighting in it over land, they should be able to make a good war film about Robots doing the same.

Maybe show the origin of the rift that split up Prime and Megatron as being brothers and the downfall of Megatron into being the vicious evil bastard that he is.

any of this would be cooler then watching more of some airhead chick and Bernie Mac........

.....though I admit Bernie Mac 'was' funny.
