No one can tell me otherwise that if hasbro actually made 3rd party quality, scale, whatever figures, People wouldn't be bitching "Why's my hasblow menasor $500, Intimidator wins agains." there's a reason why 3rd party toys are expensive, and it ins't just because the companies that make them aren't a global conglomerate like hasbro. Now I don't deny 3rd party figures aren't good, their **** immaculate, but there's a difference between complaining the hasbro figures a bit off, and bitching the hasbro figure isn't like the $600 one where money's no object.

Yes, in my opinion. I should've made that a bit more clear, however, you can make the leap. You just went out of your way to bring it up.

I have Intimidator and he's so many leagues ahead of Menasor, it's not funny. Hasbro could've at least tried and make it look G1, and at the very least, given us the correct assortment of figures to make the combined forms. A helicopter, with a different name in place of Slingshot? An SUV instead of Wildrider? Come on, it's like they're practically BEGGING us to spend our money elsewhere.

So basically, you want Hasbro to make things like 3rd Parties? Sorry, but that doesn't make much sense to me. I expect FP M3 to look better than CW Menasor because he costs roughly $250 more. If people can't get behind the incremental change that pushes Hasbro to more appealing collector figures, then well... that's your choice. But don't tell me you want G1 or the "correct" team - that's all in the eye of the beholder.

Please do not ever try and speak for me. Ever. I never said in the post you quoted that I wanted Hasbro to make 3rd party items or on that level. What I am asking them for is a complete set of combiners with the correct teammates. It doesn't take a 3rd party to do that. Hasbro did it before, they can do it again. I don't mind them adding new characters to the mix, but don't force them down our throats. Their Superion? I think it's a fine looking set, minus the helicopter guy. Their Menasor looks awful. It's a clumpy mess and if they can get Superion pretty much right, they can do the same for Menasor, why they didn't? I don't know. It's infuriating, however.

These are great for kids, no doubt and that's awesome, I want kids to get into Combiners because they're so neat, but these are also aimed at collectors and they know it and to pull this tells me they want to give us some credit/respect, but at the last minute say "Yeah, right. LOLOLOLOLOL"

And that bugs me. I'll buy their Superion, plus the 3rd party Slingshot because this is a far more affordable alternative to Uranus, but if I didn't have Intimidator, I'd probably sell off a big chunk of my collection to get him, much like I did to get UT's War Lord. (which I love with the fire of a 1,000 suns)

If you think these are great for kids, then you should be able to accept the compromises Hasbro has to make to appeal to two groups. From my POV, Hasbro isn't making these for collectors. They're making them for kids knowing that they'll also appeal to collectors.

In no way does that say Hasbro needs to meet 3rd party level other than to give us the figures we want out of the set. If people want to buy the helicopter guy, that's fine, just don't force us to.

I know Hasbro's smarter than this, they CHOOSE to do this, for whatever reason... I'm still thinking they'll release all of the correct limbs and figures to make the combiners accurate, at some point, because they KNOW we'll buy them to make our collections sit right with us and we'll go that extra mile to make it happen. My guess is all of these extraneous figures that don't fit with the teams will become their own separate combiner with an odd name and you'll have to collect the entire line to make it happen. Watch, I'll bet it will happen.

I can honestly say the designers are anything BUT gods, but you're entitled to your opinion, much like Rated X is. You can disagree with him, just as I have you, but you needn't be telling him how to do things. His scale works well with him, your's with you, no need to be telling anyone to "adjust your scale bro" because that'll just cause a back and forth between the two of you and derail the thread and we're not going to have that happen, so from this point on, no more direct quotes to people in which they're called out. I'd like to see what Hasbro can do with their Devastator, I'd hope it would be accurate, but my MT Giant is pretty hard to beat. Even though I don't like TFC's Hercules, I have to say he's put together much better than Hasbro's Menasor and I hope Hasbro's Devastator doesn't pull the same level of crap as their Menasor has. Ugh.

MT Giant is far from accurate, being as stylized as it is. But to each their own. Honestly, regardless of whether a Hasbro Devastator looks as good as CW Superion or a bit off like CW Menasor, I'd just be happy to have a Hasbro Devastator that uses this updated combiner engineering.

The one thing we can agree on is the updated engineering. It works quite well from what we've seen so far and I'd hope it gets put to good use.

Eh, not every 3rd party collector feels that way. A lot do, sure, but not all. In fact, I can honestly say that the $25.00 Springer works far better than the $90.00 Warbot Defender. In fact, I sold my Warbot Defender once I had Springer in hand. Arcee? The same. Selling off my Impossible Toys TRNS figure, because while it's nice, Hasbro's works far better, at least for me. Hasbro put out a lot of good figures this year, especially in the movie line, outside of some miracle, I don't see 3rd parties bringing us better AoE bots. I can't speak for the majority, but I can speak for me and there's always a spot in my collection for both official and 3rd party. One truly cannot exist without the other, at least not at this point in time.

Things change. They gave you the "wrong" team members because a team of 4 cars and a team of 4 jets is pretty monotonous, and most kids/parents would struggle to justify spending however much these cost on a team of essentially 4 variants of the same figure. Adding an SUV and a helicopter adds a little variety and makes it feel less like buying essentially the same toy 4 times.

Comparing Warbot Defender VS Springer and Intimidator VS CW Menasor is a false equivalency. For one thing, you're comparing a fairly basic triple changer (whose 3rd party version was made when the 3P market was still getting its bearings) and a complex Scramble City capable combiner. Furthermore, yes Intimidator looks very impressive and is a good homage to G1 Menasor, but this comes at a price: he's not only ludicrously expensive but also insanely complex. If you gave him to a kid, even a careful one who treated their toys with respect, he'd end up broken. To get a Menasor to look a lot like his G1 counterpart whilst remaining accessible by kids, he'd look horrendously ugly and simplistic. Because let's not kid ourselves here, G1 Menasor was never a particularly good looking combiner, either in the cartoon or in toy form. Intimidator can get away with it because it uses a metric **** of engineering to make it look like G1 Menasor without looking crap. That doesn't work on a mass-release figure like CW Menasor. Superion looks better because his design was a lot better than Menasor to start with, and so needs less engineering to look faithful whilst still looking good and being sturdy.

Funnily enough, Hasbro can't make every figure exactly to your specifications. Transformers isn't all about you, or even the collectors for that matter. It certainly isn't all about people who throw tantrums if a vehicle in a team has changed from its 30 years old counterpart. If you want a perfect Menasor made exactly how you want, then ask Frenzy-Rumble to do you a custom. And whilst you do, spare a thought for those of us who can't even get the new stuff because the store shelves are still filled with AOE One-Step-Changers, Upscaled Cyberverse and knockoffs, and have to pay extortionate shipping fees and import duty just to get one figure. Literally the only good stuff I can find in my area are Dinobot Construct-Bots. We don't even get Generations over here.

If they use the same type of connectors that Superion and Menasor use, it should be rock solid. I give 'em credit on the new connector design, it's even better than the Energon connectors used in the past.

I'm also surprised by the size of the limbs. Much taller than they first appeared, look a bit thick, too.

As far as PCC, I only bought one figure that came with limbs because TFC made actual limb bots to go with him. I did buy several of the PCC characters that came with minicons to use as stand alone characters. But I never gave a crap about the PCC combiner feature because it sucked. Are Combiner Wars better than Energon or PCC's ? Of course, I agree. Are Combiner Wars better than Uranus or Imtimidator ? HELL NO !!! So what do you think about Uranus and Intimidator ? To answer your question, I thought energon combiners were crap until Fansproject fixed their weakest aspects. As far as PCC, I only bought one figure that came with limbs because TFC made actual limb bots to go with him. I did buy several of the PCC characters that came with minicons to use as stand alone characters. But I never gave a crap about the PCC combiner feature because it sucked. Are Combiner Wars better than Energon or PCC's ? Of course, I agree. Are Combiner Wars better than Uranus or Imtimidator ? HELL NO !!! So what do you think about Uranus and Intimidator ? If you had to choose between them or Hasbro (without price being a factor)which would you choose ?

The question wasn't directed at me, but I would still choose CW Superion over Uranos (gasp!!!). It has more to do with me disliking Uranos than liking CW Superion, though.

Btw, from that wee short fanwank tease of a video, it seems that the American side/Hasbro engineers were responsible for the new combiner design and not the Tomy/Takara guys. Reminiscent of when henkei/classics Hound and Mirage were American designed.

Also, Superion has a mouth guard like the cartoon. The first image releases weren't high res enough to see properly. I hope these set of combiners are stable and not like the TF GO! Samurai and Ninja team...........tend to fall down and go BOOM!

I sure can't wait for 2015 3rd quarter when the Tomy versions are released.

Okay cool, this is going somewhere.

I don't have Uranus and Intimidator, but I do have Hercules. And he's a very cool toy. I don't dislike third party for being third party.
And if the prices were the same I'd probably have all the third party combiners because I love combiners.

However I do not think that if this new Superion is say, an 8/10 that Uranus would be a 16/10. I do think that from what I've seen that Uranus is better than FOC Bruticus. Just not better, or a hell of a lot better than the upcoming Combiner Wars figures.
