That tends to happen when films deviate from the original series. Look at what the critics and fans said about X-Men, Spiderman, and War of the Worlds.

sorry bout that, for some reason i thought it was gold, we never got the gijoe cartoon here in NZ (hell they didnt even show transformers on tv till the early 90's, you had to rent the videos if you wanted to watch it) so I never really took much attention to GIJOE so only have a general idea what everyone is supposed to wear.

I'm diggin it if only for Eccleston, I think the guy's a great actor, and I loved his brief stint as The Doctor. Mask or no, Destro's gonna frikkin' rock in this movie

It's funny, though. War of the Worlds is one of the closest adaptations to anything. The only real difference was the setting. (The anti-climactic ending was the same in all versions)

Marlon Wayans? Brendan Fraser? Is this going to be a serious movie or a comedy? Sienna Miller looks hot, but Famke Janssen would've been so much better as the Baroness. Btw, is Destro actually gonna look like a retard in a suit or is there gonna be some badass accident that turns him silver?

Yes, yes he is great as an actor, period. (you're forgetting a few other dramatic films... School Ties, With Honors, Gods And Monsters, and The Mummy trilogy. While funny, the Mummy films are still action flicks with dramatic moments calling for an actor who can run the gamut. He does it quite well.)

The bad news: The people calling the shots in this movie are only in it for the money, from the producers, to the director, to all the slimy hangers-on.

The good news: If you liked Transformers, you're probably going to love GI JOE, cause it's going to be just like Transformers, except louder and stupider.
