Thank you for that link, Gauntlet101010. This is pretty much my ideal when building my classics collection. Though, for my purposes I would need something that works with Voyager Classics Optimus for Leo Convoy which is why I'm disappointed in this PE offering.

Delta Magnus wrote:Er, what? You're contradicting yourself. You can't say whether something's scale is "accurate" or not if there's no actual way of determining what the "correct" scale is. Lio Convoy was never meant to be put alongside the G1 cast, and as far as I know has never made any fictional appearances with them. Unless there's official measurements for how big Lio Convoy is in the cartoon which can be compared to, say, Prime's "official" height (whatever that is) it is IMPOSSIBLE to know whether he's "to scale" with a CHUG G1 collection. The only real factor we have to go off as to whether Leonidas is to CHUG scale (which is already absurdly loose as a scale) is personal preference- I and many others consider this to be around the right scale, but you evidently don't, which is fine. However, your opinion on whether the scale is "right" is still nothing more than an opinion, and . Also, I find it funny that you're bashing the toy scale when that's the only measurement they can actually reliably use. Technically I suppose you could compare the size of this to the size of the BWII toys abnd compare that to the BWII anime scale, but bringing up "American G1 cartoon scale" on a toy based on a character who has never even appeared in the American G1 cartoon, or even alongside characters from that cartoon, is absolutely laughable. It's like comparing apples to oranges, or Evangelion Unit 01 to Mazinger Z (both of which are mecha with a habit of fluctuating in size, in the case of Mazinger Z because it was the 70s and in the case of Unit 01 because the guys at Gainax were more concerned making them look cool than making them scale consistently, and have made some effort to fix that in the remake series).
I never said my opinion was more than an opinion. Im just telling you what I prefer since there is no official comparison in scales between the two characters.
I never considered vintage toy scale relevant. As I stated earlier, bigger figures were made for increased child playability, nothing more. That's why I don't take bigger figures seriously. Cartoon scale always trumps vintage toy scale for me. And in this case, the most "official" comparison scale we have actually comes from Funpub's upcoming Orion Pax repaint and whatever fiction comes with it. Apparently, they seem to think Lio Convoy was a normal sized bot. Ill side with Funpub. I'm cool with voyager scale, but not leader or MP. And yes that's my opinion..

Think that pic pose is unfair. as TF toys when they have their legs spread that wide with their knees bent and hips bent, head tilted down like that lose more than One & 1/3 inch of robot height. It's unfair as Flash Lio Convoy's legs are tightly close together with no knees bent and no hips bent. It's Giving Lio a untrue height next to MP-10.
I posed both toys here myself and got different results. As both toys had their leg poses the same.

I appreciate your post, shajaki. I think it does a fine job of size comparison. (I'm also jealous as I do not have Lio...)
Tsut, can you give it a rest on the exact height measurements? It's fine that you care about it. I really don't see others caring so much. And it really only leads to people poking fun at the continual decimal'd height comments. Thanks!

Then post yours instead of complaining. Not all of us has that same "ruler-perfect" scale obsession of yours.
Shajaki's pic is good enough for just to judge the approximate size of the figure.
Back on topic, I don't really mind the huge size of it since scales doesn't bother me much, and it definitely looks much better than it initial renders. I just hope the price tag is not a beast!

Regardless of scale, if I ever see this guy for a reasonable price (not pulling a "MUH THIRD PARTY PRICES" it's just that money is kinda tight ATM and I usually buy my TFs second hand anyway) he's mine. Robotic lions are always cool.
I wonder if Perfect Effect is planning on doing a Big Convoy/Mammoth Prime?

back on topic.. his scale doesnt bother me seeing as how no BW figures scale with G1 or G1esq figures anyways.

I've been really moving away from 3rd Party lately, but definitely have this slotted in the budget.

I was thinking something close to the same thing. This is an impressive bot. But the transformation is really almost too simple for such a complex character, in my opinion. I'd hoped for more. And I liked some of the previous design cues a little more than what I am seeing here.
But I hope it makes many of you happy!!
