Good timing with the bumping of this thread!

So my parents only cat (I was living with them when I got him so I still claim him partly as mine) disappeared the other day, he's now been found.

Stupid idiot picked up two paralysis ticks. He's at the vets now.

You'd think he would have learnt this particular lesson a few years ago, but nope. Good ol Mikey, dumb as they come he is.

So yeah ... any Australians reading this, it's tick season, check over your animals on a regular basis!

My mums dogs actually got ticks last year, and since I'm everyone's resident dog sitter, mine got em too. But it's a fixable thing thank goodness.

Ok. So. Kingston scratches incessantly. Almost no matter what. Right now his ears are healthy as they've ever been, but still he scratches. When he has a fresh haircut and nails, he will scratch himself till he bleeds (seriously). I have a cone, it's hilarious, but cumbersome and he's old so I don't want him to hurt his neck or anything.

He's had the booties on for a few days, still scratching as much as usual, and his ears look GREAT! Like he hasn't even been scratching.

My sister decided it would look cool to paint my beagle's toenails, all of them, pink and blue for fun. Wrinkles was incredibly offended (usually is, the princess) while Duke didn't care. Guys been blind since birth, so he doesn't notice

My cat has gone blind, she is 16 years old though. She gets around okay and is a little clingy sometimes because she can't see anymore. She's still a good kitty.

My Papa had a dog like that. Sweet boy and lived for a little bit longer too

I am very grateful to have her. She climbs in my bed each morning when I get up to greet me and snooze for a little bit before I get ready. When I finally get out of bed she follows me to breakfast.

Here are a couple of my cats looking annoyed that I bothered their nap. I also have a doggo that's a dalmation/beagle mix and he's so sweet but I haven't taken any good pictures of him yet.

My cat did not let me sleep in because she was yowling. In her defense she's old and has thyroid issues which can make you feel nervous. Once I petted her she settled down though.

I hear ya, the older cats get, the more demanding they become. My previous cat wouldn't stop meowing until I sat down on a certain spot on the sofa, so she could lay on my lap.

My parents' cat has developed quite an attitude at age 9. When he wanted to go outside, all they had to do was unlock the door and he pushes it open. Not anymore, he now wants it open all the way. If they don't, he'll just look at them like "Well?", if nothing else happens, he starts grumbling and open the door anyway.

Two things:
Cobo, that is an awesome cat story. My parents are huuuge Frank Lloyd Wright fans. (Both art/architecture majors)
And Shak, we've always had cocker spaniels (for generations now at this point, on both sides of my family) so we loved your spaniel photos. Really cool that your family breeds them, too.

Any way, here's my Golden, Cleo, who's 12 now (I don't have a good enough picture of our current Cocker at the moment.)

I didn't know this thread existed, or else I'd have posted a long time ago.

This is Butters, which is short for L. Ron Butters, which itself is short for Luna aRtemis Butters. He's named after the cats from Sailor Moon and the founder of Scientology. When we got a cat, my wife wanted to name a boy Artemis, or a girl, Luna. We found a wonderful boy shelter cat named Butters, and he was just such a perfect fit for us that we decided not to change his name, but to just add the initials.

P.S. We're not Scientologists, by the way.
