Oh, really? A continuation of the WfC/FoC series? Is it out already? Why was I not aware of this :P?

It's better that you pretend that it doesn't exist. At all.

It's a cashgrab from Activision that has both AOE and reused FoC assets merged into one unpolished game.

While YOU don't care about the games, many others do and still want those versions of the Dinobots. As long as that pool of fans still exists, there will always be a market for the Planet X figures.

While that argument certainly has merit, I don't think you can deny that Planet X is filling a Classics niche for many people, whether or not they play the video game. I fall into this group. Surely there are some people who want FoC dinobots and others who want Classics dinobots, but it's hard to say that those groups don't overlap in some way, and that a PX delay would not result in reduced overall market share here.

Oh, I don't deny that there is some overlap. I'm just saying that Planet X is making these for the game fans, who may or may not also want them for Classics purposes

I see. I kept ignoring it because I kept thinking (because of its connections to the Movie-verse etc.) that it was yet another re-skinning/add-on/whatever to the mobile game that this site's news section is always on about. I had no clue there was an actual FoC sequel and that it was actually available on the PC (no consoles for me, thank you very much, especially for shooters :P). Now I've got to go spend $50 on Steam to get it. It has some bad reviews, but since most of those appear to be due in large part to the lack of PvP multiplayer, I don't really care as I don't play online (only campaign mode for me and occasionally [rarely] co-op with a friend of mine).

We're def on the same page.

It's just that, since we don't know how big that overlap is, it's hard to say whether the dedicated WFC/FOC fans would generate enough business for PX to turn a profit on this long term project. Thus the need for haste, and why I didn't think X was too out of line.

I, personally, would rather have them take all the time they need to get things right. At the very least, I'm happy to have at least 3 video game-styled dinobots for my Classics shelf (as they say, three trees makes a row).

Story-wise, its Cybertron parts are set between WFC and FOC (with one continuity error of Megatron being in his FOC body before his upgrading into it), and its Earth parts take place in some movie continuity loosely inspired by AOE but otherwise irreconcilable with the events of the actual movie (like most other Movieverse games).

I want the Planet X figs purely for Classics if I don't swap to FP's. I haven't even played FoC long enough to reach the Dinobots. For some reason, I'm not enjoying it as much as I did WfC. I really only have a WfC/FoC shelf cause I like the designs but the figures don't fit in anywhere else in my collection(sans the Voyagers filling Classics holes).

All I’m saying is that the pool of fans is shrinking considerably. Once you separate the actual WFC/FOC fans from the people who just wanted to use Planet X dinobots on a classics shelf, the market may not be big enough to turn a profit. Planet X took too long with Swoop. If collectors were into the set 2 or 3 figures deep, they might be less likely to jump ship. But one figure deep isn’t that painful. How many people jumped ship on Toyworld after buying Hardbone or Grind Rod ? It happens.

Heres my prediction:

Planet X will keep their promise to the WFC/FOC fans and deliver all 5 Dinobots and maybe Paddles. Within a 3 year period. They’ll also nearly bankrupt themselves in the process. By the time they’re done with the Dinobots, Hasbro, Maketoys or someone else will have already done a Trypticon already and they will loose that market as well. By then it will be like 2017 and WFC/FOC will be irrelevant and replaced by a new game with new takes on Prime, Megatron, Starscream, etc.

Once again, this is just my opinion.

I'm sticking with Planet X. I love their Swoop and it goes well with FOC's Grimlock. They'll do well for my Classics-style Dinobots.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

I really like these and want to continue with them to go on my pre-Earth Cybertron shelf. But I also am liking what I am seeing from other companies, and like someone else mentioned, my classics Grimlock is getting mighty lonely...

Even if it does take them that long, I'll still keep buying them because those games made such an impact on me personally thanks to the appeal of the designs with my personal tastes and the excellent stories (same reasons I'll forever buy all things "Beast Wars" :P). I'm probably not in the majority though, so if they don't supplement these releases with other items or do it in such a way that they can still pull a profit from them (or just get them out really fast), they certainly might get into trouble. Of course, it all depends on who they really are and whether or not they're part of some other 3rd party company or companies (rumors abound about there being a very small number of actual individuals/groups behind all or most of the 3rd parties, meaning that when one seems 'slow' to release, it could just be because they're releasing/working on something under a different 'brand' (different company name)), but of course that's all just speculation, so I really don't know.

I just know that if they continue making them, I will continue giving them my money and based on their designs and quality, I really do hope that they keep going the way that they have been up to this point because their products are amongst the best quality transforming toys I've ever had.

Think planet X should have all Five FOC Dinobots released before May 2015, Possibly earlier. Swoop is Already released. With Sludge being released in October. Probably the 3rd one will get released in December 2014. With the 4th and 5th getting released before May 2015.

While you have the right to your opinion. You most certainly do not have the right to harass, zinger and wish badly on other fans toy purchases.

Saying the PX FOC Dinobots are outdated, wishing the company goes bankrupt. wanting the toys to get seriously delayed till 2017 and cancelled. Is just you trying to be mean to others buying things you dislike. You do this recycled banter in over 100 threads here and you won't be stoping anytime soon.

Well the "shrinking pool" of WFC/FOC toy buyers just got a little bigger because I finally pulled the trigger on Caelus! I didn't buy him before because he wasn't G1 enough, but I recently picked up FOC Grimlock from the Target 2-pack and started thinking about building a full team of Dinobots. Now I wish I had bought the original drab colored FOC Grimlock because that one would look so much better with Caelus and Planet Xs other upcoming releases. Really I just need to be patient and wait for a PX Grimlock... hurry up Planet X!

If you can, spend the extra money to get Takara Grimlock. The grey color used for the mold matches what Planet X uses more so than any Hasbro release.

Really ? I know he acts it sometimes but he ISNT that dumb that he needs a "how to" chart.

Ive said it a million times and ill say it again. If I couldnt take the heat, I would stay out the kitchen. For you guys who read other peoples opinions and CHOOSE to get personally offended because they differ from yours, I feel bad for you. Have you ever considered just reading the artice and skip reading the comments altogether ?

Sheesh, I should open a twitter account since people love to follow me...

Indeed. I am having a devil of a time, as it appears that many others are, in choosing Planet X awesomeness over FP awesomeness. I might just end up with both.

I'm going to need more shelf space, methinks...

(I answer to Ag or Ags. Agamemnon is too long to type. Plus, there is something elemental about calling me Ag. :-D )

Yea, I've preordered Columpio. And I'm not too happy about it. Well... time to put some more crap on eBay.

Will have to sell even more stuff if I get Neptune, too.

I hope a reviewer (Peaugh seems most likely) does a comparison sometime soon.

I'm sticking with Planet X. I love their Swoop, and Sludge looks nice too.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Personally, I'll be getting all of Planet X's Dinobots for my collection instead of FP's or Mecha-whatever's, but it looks like FP will be making at least one non-canon Dinobot that I may get as well.
