You may want to hold off on that idea. Hybrid Style G1 Convoy is roughly Legends-sized, not Deluxe, so the trailer may be way too small.
-Kanrabat- wrote:Also, how many G1 Optimus do we need? They should have went with Cybertron Hybrid Convoy instead. It's much better looking in all modes and way more interesting.
It's also much bigger.
Maybe I would pay the 160$ for it. Because on Ebay, Hybrid Galaxy Convoy is 250$ plus shipping at the minimum.
Emerje wrote:In fairness a lot of people in North America passed on HS Galaxy Convoy back then because he was basically the same price as the full size Cybertron Optimus Prime. If we only knew then what we know now.

Eh, the Hybrid Style mold is more like a Scout class of the Cybertron days than the Legends class of today, so it is smaller than a Deluxe but not quite as small as that Legends class OP.-Kanrabat- wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:The trailer is marvelous however. Oh, true. In that case, this little guy will fit perfectly:
Er.... those feet will need some serious modding.

I think you mean to say that the truck modes of MP-01 and 2006 Deluxe Classics Optimus Prime put Hybrid Style Convoy to shame, ne?

Not really. Hybrid is so bad, that even the MP-01 and Classic deluxe, ones that have infamous bad truck mode, are ashamed of it. Hybrid flaunt his diecast with pride because he's so "premium", all while ignoring the others who are red with shame.
As a comparison for newcomers:
Classic deluxe:

A small Deluxe.-Kanrabat- wrote:I didn't even know RM Optimus existed. What's his size?
Try the version sold in the toyline called Legend Commander Collection.-Kanrabat- wrote:Also, both truck and bot modes are not perfect, but they are certainly decent enough. But not enough for me to pay the 70$+ the aftermarket ask for.

It's probably because Deluxe class is traditionally meant for the average-sized bots while Optimus Prime is traditionally supposed to be bigger-than-average-sized. He's a truck among cars, a leader among followers, the guy most of his troops look up to both figuratively and literally. Voyager class (or, in the past, Mega class, and its equivalents) is generally regarded as the minimum appropriate size class for Optimus since he's usually not supposed to be on the same height level as the majority of his teammates.Cyberpath wrote:why won't HasTak would make a Deluxe one, too?

There's this, for one. For another, Optimus Prime toys sell, so they're going to look at higher price/margin size classes to mitigate risks carried by some of the other choices in the size class (example: Leader Blaster)Sabrblade wrote:It's probably because Deluxe class is traditionally meant for the average-sized bots while Optimus Prime is traditionally supposed to be bigger-than-average-sized. They didn't always and even some recent lines that do still haven't covered every size class for him.Cyberpath wrote:They release him in every size-class though,
They probably feel that they've already covered that ground with existing Deluxes that drew from his original look (like the Classics "Ultimate Battle" one, even if that one's lame), and want to do other things with him to keep up with the ever-changing nature of the brand that necessitates creating new and fresh ideas for old characters.Cyberpath wrote:Although I want a Deluxe I'm talking more about the design. Why haven't they made a proper CHUG figure of his iconic incarnation instead (or in addition to) all the gimmicky toys of him -- combiner, headmaster, triple-changer, powermaster, etc.
