I'd want it for the base Hot Rod figure. I think it's doing too much in duplicating the efforts of MP-09 by being Rodimus and having the Winnebago trailer.

What is going on with Hot Rod there? That chest is HUGE! Really, that whole effort looks more like an MP toy Hot Rod than something Takara would give us. Maybe that's the point? Since the current MP actually does do a good job at representing Hor Rod (although it's a bit big thanks to the change in size).

I like Rodimus better. Not impressed with the wheels on his legs, though. They look like they could have folded into the thigh.

Is this really supposed to be the same figure? The robot modes look totally different.

Seriously, though, while it has some issues, I'm quite content with my official Masterpiece Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime. And anyway, I think I've mentioned before how I dislike (a) when third party companies do figures already officially done, and (b) when third party companies rip off official molds (as the base figure here is clearly a remolded Sideswipe).

they are using sideswipe as the base for this hot rod. so basically KOing with remolds?

Looks like a minor remold of MP Sideswipe for the regular Hotrod, then additional armor up pieces (like protector) to beef him up to Rodimus.

I would like this only for the Hot Rod form! I could do without the trailer and add on parts. If they do that and the price is right I might bite.

Saw this earlier today but needed time to examine and process this before I gave a reply.

My ideal 3rd party Rodimus Prime toy. Is something similar to What KFC Citizen stacks and the Titanium Rodimus Prime toy is But 10 inches tall in robot mode not 13 like Citizen is.

Think this thing is hillarious, interesting and weird all at the same time. If today was April 1st, I'd speculate and call it a Aprils fools day joke.

The Hotrod toy appears to use the MP Sideswipe toy. It's a major resculpt not a minor retool. As it now might have connector parts to combine with the Rodimus Prime robot armor pieces its got.

Looks like most of the Rodimus Prime super robot armor parts just get thrown in a empty trailer or in a toy box baggie. because I don't see any cuts in the trailer.

When the toy is in the Rodimus Prime Full vehicle mode. There looks like it has a definate cover that pops on top to cover the hotrodsideswipe race car mode.

Looks like a KO or 3rd parties attempt at trying to give buyers a larger scale version of what FP Protector is.

Definately need to see more pics and videos in the final stages. Might be interested in buying this if the price isn't high. Hoping it's one of those high quality KO's. So Sirtoys, Ebay and Ioffer sells it for cheap.

If its a 3rd party toy. Then this toy is going to be exspensive & to hard find. As most imports sites in the USA won't sell it as it KO's MP Sideswipe. Speculating if they'll sell it on ebay.

Since a KO company, maybe a few have the MP Sideswipe, Whatever, To mass produce this KO toy. Wondering if they will be releasing this MP Rodimus Prime toy.

The car mode looks pretty good, but the proportions of his chest and legs in bot mode for Hot Rod are all screwed up. He looks OK in Rodimus Prime mode, but if I were to buy another MP Hot Rod/Rodimus it would be to have a Hot Rod that scales well with MP-10 in bot mode. This one scales with him fine but looks too jacked up for an MP shelf. Sorry guys, but pass.

False alarm. This had been confirmed to be just a one-off custom, not a 3p item for sale. And it's one hell of a custom.

I've been considering making a Hot Rod out of Sideswipe since I got it. I'd be down for this but I don't like the Rodimus mode. If it's not too much I'd get one.

MP Rodimus is just too big to be a MP-10 scale Hot Rod. This could work for my shelf.

Yeah, If they're going to do a Rodimus, I would've prefer a direct vechile>robot transformation without the armor-up gimmick.

Then again, I'm loving Mp-09 as it is

If there was a 3rd Party MP Rod, I'd like it to be just Hot Rod, not Rodimus. I think the official Rodimus functions well as a Masterpiece, but it's out of scale due to him being Rodimus, even if there's an attempt at a Hot Rod mode by including a car mode that is so out of scale in vehicle mode, and the robot mode isn't really distinguishable. Pulling up the shoulders, hips, and changing the face doesn't really do it. Bottom line is, Hot Rod is at least a head shorter than Rodimus.

True that the official one didn't give us a full head's difference, but I thought they did a decent job of making him slightly taller as Rodimus, while still being basically the same toy, and without throwing off the proportions or having to include extenders in the limbs that might throw off his lines. (If you made his legs much longer, he'd start to look lanky... and also, his arms would look too short if you didn't make them longer, too! Which would make him look even lankier!)

I'm not gonna lie, when I watched the movie I could barely tell the difference between Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime in robot modes.

...Wait, is that the Sailor Moon R movie?

That's it. What we need is a Sailor Moon transformer. Third parties take note!
