It's just hedging their potential loss on splitting the case. Onslaught is a repack here, so all the Onslaughts left orphaned have potential to sit around and end up on clearance. If they were really trying to get one over or commit, as you say, "HIGHWAY F***IN' ROBBERY!" on consumers, then the set of both Sky Lynx and Onslaught would be running $60 and not $50. It is not.D-Maximus_Prime wrote:carytheone wrote:Big bad toy store has their Pre-orders up for CW Sky Lynx $34.99.

I'm a bit frustrated with other things BBTS does lately, so it pains me a bit to defend them, but I think fairness should be applied before throwing around accusations like the one here.
It could be. I'm not convinced that one actually exists or is going to despite plans for it, but guess we'll see!mooncake623 wrote:Wait Onslaught is a repack? I just automatically assumed this one is the one with the running color change we've heard about...

I haven't bought a transformer from a brick and mortar store in more than a year. Not because I don't want to but because they simply don't have them. My Walmart has a great big empty section where transformers are supposed to go but they don't have any. It's pretty ridiculous.

Wreck Gar doesnt count?
Wreck-Gar is said to somehow attach to Sky Reign's back.RiddlerJ wrote:william-james88 wrote:RiddlerJ wrote:

I don't think Wreck Gar interacts with Sky Reign in any way. I might be wrong, but it doesn't look like he can connect or be held by the combiner as some kind of weapon.

It's more a very frustrating thing when a figure is being sold individually for that much. I can see why they are doing that with Onslaught, but at the same time, that individual cost is just crazy. I bought leader RotF Jetfire for $35 at walmart, and that was the baseline price not a sale, so it looks a little ridiculous that a 2016 voyager costs the same on a big online retailer for 2009 leader prices.
It just really disgusts me to see businesses using that strategy here.

They could easily fix it if the preorders were set in stone, or if you paid in advance. They woudl guarantee their cashflow and afford to lower the price since their sale was guaranteed.
So here is my question to you guys, would you rather no longer be able to cancel your preorders? Or pay an extra amount for more sought after figures?

I would rather take a cheaper route. If I make a preorder, I'd keep it rather than preorder a figure for a more expensive price and then be able to cancel it. I try to be more patient, and so far I haven't lost out on a figure I really wanted. I managed to snag Skids and Swerve for retail prices when we thought they would be cancelled a few years back, and I snagged the Brainstorm that was harder to find as the last thrilling 30 figure for a few bucks less than retail, all because I waited.
Now I fully understand others wanting to preorder to guarantee the figure and not minding prices, and I have nothing against them. I just prefer to wait and see. As a result, I only have ever preordered 1 figure, and it was expensive but I got the figure. and at the same time the figure was an exclusive, so that was the route I needed to take. But knowing that a figure is a mainline figure and will be distributed means I don't need to go preorder, it means I can just wait for a better price.
I didn't mean to come off rude in my original post about this, but it just angered me to see them selling off the more desired voyager in a wave for such a heavy cost.

What about Walmat.com or Toysrus.com ? Or amazon.com? I am sure they wont charge 35$. I do all my shopping online, but from those retailers rather than specialty shops.
Optimizzy wrote:
Yeah sometimes I can catch them there. Amazon.com is decent sometimes. I usually have the best luck with HTS. But I defiantly have a hard time finding anything at my local stores. Usually I don't mine paying a little extra at BBTS to make certain I get one but $10 over retail is too much. $29.99 I would not have thought twice but for some reason $35 just seems way too steep.
Wolfman Jake wrote:I'm actually perfectly happy to pre-order the duo through TFSource. Their pre-order pics depict Onslaught with the olive-brown combiner chest pieces. I've already got the gray chest version for Bruticus. Now I can have an extra Onslaught with more accurate robot/alt-mode colors to display individually as well. $35.00 for Sky Lynx alone, though, IS quite absurd.
