Platinum Optimus Primal has not been spotted in the US but as with last year, the platinum editions are out in Asia and can be found easily on e-bay at a price equal or less than what he will go for at American retail. So if anyone wants this giant ape, he's available for 120$ shipped:

Based on stories of how the other yot_ figures rot on shelves... probably not, not many at least; Bet scalpers don't even want to touch them, they seemed to have developed a rather toxic reputation in recent years (one which is entirely deserved)

Are you kidding me? I bought two! I'm kidding, I wouldn't touch this thing with a 10ft pole. I remember hearing this mold had issues with certain gimmicks working right.

I never had a problem with anything not working well, it's really solid. I just hated the punching arm gimmick, as it ruined the entire right arm :BANG_HEAD:

The first commemorative Platinum set honouring the 30th anniversary of the Transformers movie is the Planet of Junk set. In hand images have been found, reviews have been done and it was even found in stores in Canada. However, we now have it available online for people to order. This is still just for Toysrus Canada and it has not been confirmed if Toysrus will be the exclusive retailer of this toy in the rest of North America. The listing also finally provided us with high quality stock images which you can find below.

For any Canadian which couldn't find this in stores, this is good news since the $109.99 price (USD 81.94) is easier to digest than the $161.08 (USD 119.99) that importer sites have been charging.Hopefully it reaches the rest of the world soon.

Because way too many fans will simply buy anything that says Hasbro on it, at any price, solely because it says Hasbro on it. Hasbro knows this, and milkS these silly people for all they can get.

Sometimes I wish Hasbro operated like the Club where you can just select the option of getting it in plastic bags and cut your price by a quarter.

I reviewed this set not long ago.
I agree it is a pretty expensive set for what you get and 2 of them are basically the same with the same colored plastic, I don't know what you are really buying.
