So, with the money I'm saving by ignoring 98% of the TR line, I've been expanding my Optimus Prime collection.
One area I'm lacking in, is the Alternity line. There are several options here, at quite a range if prices. My question is, which version should I get?
FYI, I consider Black Convoy/Nemesis Prime figures to count on an Optimus collection.
A question of alternity.

Do you actually like that figure? I've got the GT version and found it very underwhelming with it's short arms and strange legs and feet. Couldn't believe they were charging so much for such a "meh" figure.
And the girl that came with him wasn't even in the same scale. Lame.

I like it. For it's size and intricacy of transformation, there's only so much you can fit in the frame.
Wait til you see the "Seekers"

If you already have GT Prime, you're not gaining much from getting the Alternity one as they're the same base mold (in fact, all GT figures are retools of Alternity Convoy!).
The main draw excuse is that every figure represents a different dimensional incarnation:
- the silver Convoy represents the G1 cartoon Optimus Prime, specifically from the Binaltech tangent, like the blue Megatron
- the red Convoy represents the "main" Convoy for the Alternity timeline
...which got turned into the traditional different characters later:
- the black Convoy represents Universe 2003 Nemesis Prime
- the blue Convoy represents Dai Atlas
- the white Convoy represents Ultra Magnus, and is meant to be paired with the black Megatron, who's from the Mystery of Convoy game timeline.
They're all the same mold, so your choice, but ideally two versions at least require a Megatron to feel... complete.
