"Lubricating"...

They should have picked a tone/feel and stuck to it dark and epic or Overtly comedic, it doesn't work [my opinion] when they try to mix the two ... like the opening with Blackout Trashing the base then S7, Bumbling witwicky, and of course Bumblebee peeing. At times it felt like I was watching two different movies

If this scene ruined the movie for you, (to no one in particular) my advice is to remove the stick from your butt.
As for the movie needing to be "epic", get real. I seriously doubt I'd have gone to see some nerd twitch film that couldn't even laugh at itself a little bit, and neither would all the other non-transformer fans. This is what it took to get your precious transformers to big screen, so be happy with what you did get. I'd be more upset with the sappy parts with Sam and Mikeala, especially "Sam, I'm glad I got in the car". Now THAT was overly low.

It was pretty disgusting. Why is he spilling his fuel about? He needs that to run as a car. It is not the same as peeping urine which is waste. Gas is a fuel source.

When you think about it, technically, isn't it the same thing your car does when you xchange the oil? It's just funny cause he was on two legs.

Thats basically all he did. The oil sump was just conviniantly located in his crotch area. If a shaft-shaped tube has popped out and then he squirted, then yeah wed have a problem, but anyone saying that him lubricating oil over the guy is disgusting and "OH NOES ARE FRAGILE CHILDREN MUST NOT SEE SUCH A HORRID THING!" is just an idiot.

Yeah, I can see a tube going horribly wrong.
But there wasn't, and it didn't.
Simple as that. I think you're right. People are just fragile minded to this stuff.

I still say fans ruin it for everyone.

initially i was upset when Ironhide said "Can we take him out?" to Prime b/c that is just against the autobot code. But I'm over it -I'm just such a big G1 fan that I expected Ironhide to be like he was in the cartoon, not contemplating killing humans. The piss scene is what it is. Still say it would've been better left as a deleted scene/outtake. We had enough humor with Bernie Mac, the parent/kid discussion jokes and Sam and Mikaela interactions. (Get your mind out of the gutter -u know what i mean)

why did they get Bay to do this film anyway? he has no comic book movie background at all. Action, yes, but not mixed with sci-fi fictional characters. (I didn't see the Island, so don't roast me) I guess it helps to be friends with Spielberg.

Because he makes succesful action movies, and he does know how to handle the sci-fi genre, armageddon and the island are clear examples of this.

i just hope they stop all the juvenile jokes altogether for the sequel. Not saying no jokes, just no crappy ones

When jokes are subtle they are often times more funny, think of X2 when the cat was licking wolverines Claws, or X3 when Magneto and company were on the bridge and that woman (or man) locked the car door as they were approaching. Humor in a movie is good, its all about the delivery, appropriateness and most importantly knowing when to stop.

Yeah that seems to be the general attitude amongst the haters of the film, all of its fans are idiots.
Nope, it's that the MOVIE is simplistic and at times idiotic. Intelligent and stupid people alike can enjoy idiotic movies, liking this movie isnt a refection on your IQ or a crime but similarly nither is disliking it. Personally i take offense to being labeled a 'Hater' or accused of having a 'stick up my ass' for having valid reasons for not liking the movie and finding totally inappropriate toilet humour unfunny. I love South Park as much as the next guy but within the context of Transformers and this movie it just didn't work and made me feel very embarrassed to be sat there watching it.

pretty much right on. The jokes were funny, but did not fit in with the movie very well overall. Syphonn said it best about timing and context. They should've been a little more shrewd with the editing.

WEll, since they made a good chunk of cash (which means nothing to people for some reason), perhaps they can spend a bit more on the expensive CGI.
Otherwise, will have to pull antoher business move of having human characters again, with alot of screen time.

This is painful, some of the posters on this thread really need to LIGHTEN UP. TF is geared primarily towards CHILDREN, most of us that collect got hooked when we were.... you guessed it, CHILDREN.
If you want a darker TF universe, that is what the comics serve. Even past that, I think there were many scenes where the decepticons came off as scary, dark and merciless.
The movie did an amazing job of servicing every point of interest, fans, parents, kids and general moviegoers.
Fans DO ruin things after the fact, I think some fans got in their heads that they would hate the film and that dictated their mindset while watching, I feel sorry for these fans.
And to all who thought prime was too brutal on Bonecrusher, 'crusher had just murdered a busload of people, and the Prime I know doesnt take that kind of thing well.
Too often people confuse Primes compassion for weakness. Prime has had some kind of blade in his forearm since G1, what is he supposed to do with it, pet kittens?

No evidence of that, the indication is that there were people in the bus. Are you saying that because you didnt see bodies all over that all the vehicles blown up in the movie were empty??
