Spoilers in the title? That's not good...
Yes I care, my wife cares. It totally sucked. He had the best personality in the flick IMO. Also, IIRC, the only survivor of G1 out of any of the other characters.
Bumblebee doesn't count b/c he becomes GoldBug.

I could care less. He was hardly on screen. He was given no likable personality (he was a 20 second pastiche of terrible hip hop stereotypes) and his death was totally glossed over.
No. Big. Loss.
Hell, even if Ratchet had been killed I wouldn't have cared. The movie did nothing to make the Transformers into real characters except for Prime and Bumblebee.

Well it is well over a week the movie has been released..
My daughter was somewhat "shocked" when he was destroyed.
And there was absolutely NO reason to create a duplicate thread about this.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Yes, i do care.
He was a major main-stay character in G1 and other past series. He even survived, along with fellow major characters Bumblebee & Cliffjumper, when Moon-Base 1 & 2 were attacked and eaten up by Unicron. Even as Wheeljack, Ironhide & Ratchet were killed in that same episode.
Hasbro and Spielberg could have just fielded in a lesser character, or create a totally new unknown character, to be killed off just like that.
Another reason is that I bought the toy! Now i have a dead character in my cabinet!

I cared but not enough to bring him back. Let smove on, I think his charater was done wrong. It seed like he was trying too hard. I felt I was watching Ja Rule..I hate Ja Rule...lol
Anyway, I wish he wouldnt have died, but I honestly would have rather have him as the mute.

THe general target audience of this movie doesnt care about what happend with Jazz, or how much or how little he related to his 20 year old self. No one cares, but us nerds. You ask the 12 year old boy who is watching the movie, he considers Jazz the same type of character as bonecrusher or brawl, just another bot getting smashed.
Sorry, this is a 2.5 hour movie, Not every single robot can have his life story told to the nerds so we feel connected and blah blah. Have to pick and choose who gets development. Otherwise we would complain there wasnt enough fighting, etc etc.
Man, people think this is real life sometimes, forget its a short little movie. Go read a book, you get some more character development in books.
oh, and edit, yeah I wish we saw some more of Jazz. Man, it's fun to play as him in the video game, he is one speedy little bugger.

I agree. He used to be this cool, smart, understanding, fun, responsible guy with a great voice and an amazing accent.
Now he turned out to be a trying hard dancer, "you want a piece of me?" provoker, with a scary voice, eating up his words as he talks.
His only redeeming value in the movie was his courage to charge head on into the gigantic Brawl tank, and standing (or squatting?) his ground when Megatron dropped by. But this role could have better suited the characters of Ironhide or Kupp.

Well sort of. I mean he was pretty cool and all, but one of them had to die, when I saw the movie I thought Bumblebee was going to die because his legs were broken off and he was acting all weakish.

Of course I do cuz Jazz is my favourite tf !!
Back in G1, he took a big part, especially in the first few episode, as the second in command of the autobots.
This second in command dies so easily in the new movie
and doesn't even take a big part in there,,, Big disappointment
. Hope Bay will put him back in the next movie (if there is one,,, and if there is a way to bring Jazz back,,,)

Jazz dyin' was messed up. Mainly because he died so easy, and the fact that Optimus didn't seem to care. (Did you hear the way he said aw...Jazz?!) His death didn't make sense to me really. I mean frenzy got his frickin' head ripped off and he lived! (he even turned into a cool phone!) Jazz loses his hip and legs and he's done?!
WACK!!!!!
Not to mention Jazz was the second funkiest transformer ever!
(Next to myself of course)

Now that you mention it... Megatron should have cut off Jazz's head instead, so that he can have a chance to live.
What about Brawl(Devastator)? He's got his arm and missile luncher cut off, chest blasted... But his head is unharmed! Should have cut off his head to make him live!
And Blackout? A little sunburn on the chest... cut off his head to make him live too!
Finally, Bonecrusher! His head could be crawling somewhere miles away, looking for a suitable alt mode to transform to. Maybe an umbrella?

Yeah, I cared that Jazz died. I think it was necessary though.
Prime's reaction? I think it was quite realistic. It was more human than you think, and not so out of the ordinary.
How many Generals, Captains, Admirals, etc weep over every single one of their men that have died in the course of doing their duties? I'm sure a piece of them feels sorrow, but they've seen so much death, so much destruction, it's a little difficult to release it, and if they did, they could have a nervous breakdown once it all hit.
Prime was just being a leader, not being cold. I think the more he's around humans, the more he'll be like his old self. Though I'd prefer he was more like Optimus Primal.
