Are transformers less "playable" than they used to be?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

I think, like it's been mentioned before, it's the imagination and not the toy. How many people today get on their hands and knees and roll their autobots around or run around the house making jet noises with their decepticons? Ok, i'm guilty of the latter but unfortunately not the former :(

Each toy line has great and sucky figures but it's up to you to play with them, regardless of what era they're from

And to specifically answer the question, no I don't think transformers today are less "playable"

Motto: "If you feel my lightning, you will never hear the thunder."
I think that the newer figures have a more playable quality to them when comparing them to the originals. The originals broke more easily than the current lines but this just might be from my experiences.

I'll bet you don't play with your collection now like you used to play with G1 stuff back in the day.

I certainly don't. Back then there was speeding across the carpet and flying into walls. Nowadays it's just me transforming Prime while I wait for a web page to load. "Autobts, roll out! Why are you just standing on that display shelf? The Decepticons are attacking!" "No, they're not, Prime. They're just standing on the display shelf, too."
