Responses like "For pete's sake it's a family show" and "Why do people not understand Transformers cartoons (Including Beast Wars) are for kids?" make me question how seriously people take the continuities. Responses like those from Counterpunch and Whiner-tron are malicious and unnecessary. If all you want is to bash then keep your words to yourself.
Well in this matter of being right...
While I don't think I am the center of the universe, I may have got this snowball rolling.
When I say family show, I consider what I've watched as a family with my parents. StarTrek TNG was among the staples of what I considered "family show" material. I also was joking
mostly with that statement. I think I even used an emo-con. I apologize if my actions in anyway offended you, let alone getting you compared to Tramp
It was not my intent to insult you.
I rather do like the idea of the maximals/predacons struggling to control their more primal instincts gained from there beastmodes. I think they even touched on the concept once or twice in the BW/BM series. But IMHO, I still think flesh tearing transformations, and any healing factor to mitigate them, would lessen the impact and significance of whatever actually comes remotely close to gore or violence in the series.
While I doubt
VestigialHeart meant current Wolverine healingfactor levels, the way that term's effects can scale worse than the DBZ series... and I'm a fan of both.
Extra gore only seems to add shock value to me, and takes away from the true entertainment; the story and character development. I think you did ask for opinions and thoughts on your thoughts...

I mean the characters have skin, fur and feathers; they're exterior beast form shells contain some type of tissue. I always imagined the transformation process being a bit painful for the preds and maximals. I don't mean blood and guts flying everywhere, but rather a bit more painful of a transformation with the tissues tearing apart and refusing together. Think Wolverine when he uses his claws how the flesh rips apart and then heals back over when he sheathes his claws. I'm not sure if there's already been any fan pics of it, but i thought it would look awesome seeing Optimus Primal literally RIPPING out of beast mode into robot mode. It would be MUCH more vicious and a HELL of a lot more intimidating.
I understand that it would be too gory for kids, but as an adult i can't help but envision a more realistic, darker version of the continuity. I mean, it's war; war is never pretty nor is it child friendly.
What do you think? Cool idea or ravings of a madman?
yeah know what
VH... I only answered because I thought it was cool how you typed
'ravings of a madman' as I often say that myself.
In this matter of being wrong...
I'm a little disappointed about this thread becoming a bit darker after my post. Fans arguing with fans, and opposing opinions getting bashed is one thing; implied Comments about others stages in puberty and patheticness of the TF fan community, on a TF fansite, is not a way to get welcomed into the TF fan community. IMHO it is wrong to assume so.
