Bitten by the bug and need advice

Postby doomboy536 » Sat Oct 27, 2007 9:56 am

So I've officially been bitten by the TF figure bug :D

I was in Forbidden Planet with the girlfriend on Thursday with all my shiney birthday money (it was my 21st) and I saw Transformers Classics Ramjet. I mentioned to the gf about how I never really had any G1 TFs when I was younger and was jealous of my older friend who had loads, including Ramjet. She then said the most awesome thing...
"Why don't you get him?"

Naturally I was all :  but with a large grin I went and bought him. It was so utterly awesome to hold a TF after so long.

The next day I was at Sainsbury's and saw a couple of TF Move Bonecrushers lying around. Now I've always had a soft spot for Movie Bonecrusher, so I snapped him up! I must be out of practice because I found his transformation ridiculously hard compared to Ramjet.

Resolved to my fate, I took the rest of my birthday money to Toys R Us today and spent ages pouring through the selection of TFs there, eventually settling on G1 Reissue Prowl and Inferno, as well as the Ultimate Battle Megatron v Optimus Prime set. I haven't opened them all yet as I dropped them off at the gf's house to go to the library and work, but I swung round via my house and joy of joys! More money to spend on figures! :D

So I've got roughly £40 to spend tonight. I appeal to you oh mighty TF figure collectors, which of these should I get or should I hold onto them for something else? I'm a big fan of G1 and the Movie and little else.

They have:
20th Anniversary Prime
Tracks
Skywarp
Soundwave
Red Alert
and a few other assorted movie figs

Cheers!

Unless there's some hideous defect with 20th Anniversary Prime I don't know about, get him. Ultimate G1 figure.

Weapon: Air Rifle
Go for the 20th anniversary Prime.

If he's still at £30, get Tracks as well.

All of these figures are worth your money. So go with your fave for now, and hide a suitable amount of the others around the store for later purchase.

I highly recommend the Soundwave. God only knows how long it is till he's taken off of the shelves.

EDIT:- And get yer ass over to the Official Disgruntled Brits thread in the Sightings forum, where you belong

Well I snapped up 20th Anniversary Prime, and he is AWESOME! Moving mouthplate ,10 posable fingers (well 8 and 2 thumbs if we are going to be pedantic :P ) and Megatron in pistol form as a weapon. Thanks greatly for the advice, he is without doubt the centrepiece of my very small collection :)

I was never a big Soundwave fan, and after much deliberation I went with Skywarp. He was one of my characters from the cartoon and I love his robot form and his alt-mode. Soundwave is going on the Christmas list, I only hope they still have him then :S

Good choice on Prime. Sadly, every other TF you buy will be a little less impressive as a result. :P

For G1 enthusiasts, i'd go for Prime and Soundwave.

Otherwise, i'd choose Movie figs.
