Okay, so there's been a crapload of topics asking how Bumblebee suddenly regained his voice at the end of the film. I don't know how we all missed this but Roberto Orci actually answered this question in a thread over on the official movie boards:

"When they Autobots land and introduce themselves to Sam and Mikaela, Ratchet explains that he's been working on BB voice and actually treats him with a regenerative plasma laser. By the end of the movie, it's worked its magic, but I agree it could've been clearer."

SO....it actually had nothing to do with him touching the Allspark.

thanks for the info - my friend and I were under the impression that BB's voice was restored by the cube.

right after BB got damaged and handed the Cube to Sam, he didn't say anything. The Allspark would have cured him instantly as it did Frenzy

Awww man, I thought the answer was the cube mixed with bad editing.

I would have liked to see BB's not talking being cause by the TF version of PTSD.

Bumblebee touched it while it was still "large and active"

Well think about it like this. The robots are quite bio-mechanical right. So perhaps, like when people get their tonsils removed, they need recovery time.

or he didnt want to distract the others by speaking during the battle. IMO, if im used to this guy not talking and we're in the heat of battle and he says something to me, imma stop and say WTF! you can talk now!! then get blown up cus im not concentrating on the battle.

It made those machines come to life when it hit the ground.

I think the Allspark did fix him, when Bumblebee touches it before reformatting the Allspark into it's smaller size, I swear I saw a pulse of blue light flow into Bumblebee's throat.

If it managed to give Frenzy an entirely new body from nothing, it could easily fix a broken voice box.

Except that the writers of the movie said it was Rachet's laser. So no, it wasn't the Allspark.

yes but i call BS on everything he is saying now.....if thats what happened then write it that way....u cant go back and try and twist the scenes and say it really meant this just because people keep asking questions about all the giant holes in the film.

I thought I saw this too. I figured it was a slow heal due to the severity of the damage. Ratchet said he could not fix it. So what, he just happened to fix it in 2 seconds right after he said he had been working on it a while and couldnt figure it out? This was his last treatment with the laser? Then when his voice did return it seemed semi-functional still; like it had a while to go before it was good as new.
It didnt sound like Orci even knows. Writer or not.

It should have, because that makes a whole lot more sense. I don't see how Ratchet could have fixed Bumblebee's voice when it was stated in the comics that it was "destroyed beyond repair."

OK, maybe I could believe that if that wasn't treated in such a slipshod way. (Since this, of course, comes from the same people that can't seem to give us a straight answer on any of the movie's supposed plot holes.)

but i think frenzy might have sent a repair signal to the spark and thus getting a new body....but with bb his main goal was to shrink it and get the hell out of dodge....i would go with residual energy being what fixed his voice.

I am SURE they wrote it that way and Bay just didn't do a good job of directing the scene so that it made sense. If Orci really didn't write it that way then a simpler explanation would be to say the Allspark healed him since that's what most fans were already saying. He provided an explanation that absolutely nobody has mentioned on here so yes, they did write it that way and it just wasn't explained well in the film.
