You'd probably like the movie figs better. Better details, intricate transformations, a weird look, but still lots of fun.

Classics Devastator is bulky akward, holds together well, but the hands and feet prevent him from balancing. The 2 crane figures suck, and forget about posing him in combined bot mode.

Get the movie guys.

Classics DEV is awesome and much harder to get hold of than the movie figs so youd be better off with him. Not to mention he is huge and looks like he's gonna eat your babies.

Movie figs are a dime a dozen, they will be around and easy to find for ages yet, CL Dev wont be so get him while you still can.

This is a no-brainer.

Ok, i'm gonna close my left eye before i give the answer.

Movie figs are the way to go, unless Hasbro brings out a real Classics Devastator. Not some old run-down Cybertron repaint. (Or is it Energon?)

Whatever. The current Classics Devastator, (which i too eagerly bought before at a hefty highway-robbery price), does not do any bit of justice to the original 6-bot team. No resemblance at all.

Unless you're a completionist, better hold on to your shining dollars, and plunged them down to the upcoming Classics 2.0 instead.

For the meantime, Desert Attack Brawl and Voyager Starscream is the clear choice.

Even if i close my right eye as well.

I would go for classics devestator. For a combiner he's pretty poseable, especially if you go with the fan made arm transformations. Mine has no problems standing and he holds together well.

Weapon: Light-Saber Sword
I like Classics Devestator as well. I've had no balancing issues with mine at all. For a combiner, the articulation isn't all that bad really. He can bend at the knee, hips, waist, shoulders, and neck. Neck movement is limited because the shovel from the center bot is permanently attached to his left shoulder. Not a bad combiner, overall.

Like the other posters said, though, the bots that make up Devestator are fairly weak, and the crane bots are just naf....

Classics Dev was a let down to me because I compared it too much to the actual classic G1 Dev too much, but not as much as much of a letdown as movie Screamer is. I hate the mold and it looks too Predator for me, so if you don't mind a Dev lookalike then stick with the Constructicons.

I'm probably a minority here in my thinking but I happen to really like Classics Devastator.

He is getting hard to find at a decent price price though so don't over pay for him either.

I got mine at Wal-Mart back in September for $15.99 on sale. Retail was about $28-$30. I didn't even know mine was on sale until got to the register BTW.

This version of Classics Devastator really has only 3 unique bots. The other 2 are just twins or clones.

This is a major let down.

Also, it's got no real hands and feet. The hands and feet are just big pincers converted from the weapons of the smaller bots. These weapons looks out of place in the vehicle modes.
