I am 16 now, but don't know what I would do for a job. I just have figured that working on getting our company off the ground would be better than working at a McDonalds or whatever. (Yuck)

While that is true, I'm not confident enough in my driving ability to take the test right away. I'll probably wait a few months.
And the prospect of a job so I can buy more robits is pretty cool, but I'm probably too lazy to hold one for a while.

I thought trying to save up for a Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave was rough and time consuming. So I hear ya, it was more being sarcastic. Bazinga.

Lol I am still kinda in that phase as you were Maxy. I'm not exactly raking in the dough right now, so Transformers are more of a once-in-a-while blessing rather than a normal buy. For me, just my parents surprising me with a Cybertron Clocker and an RX-78-2 Revive Gundam building kit a couple weeks ago for my b-day was awesome. Neither of those were that expensive, because my parents and I know that there are other things we need to put our money to, and if our family business is going to be successful, we need to invest in the right things. Heck, if I even CAN get UW Devastator within the next year, that will probably make me not be able to get another TF for like six months or something. I just need to be reasonable with my thinking, which is very hard to do sometimes when a new and awesome toy-line comes out.

Silly, you gotta get on that devastator. He is NOT going to get any cheaper, and you have been talking about him for the last year and half. Good news though, as the holiday season sneaks up on us, Ultra Magnus will most likely get cheaper. He's already $35 every where.

OK. Old man gonna talk to the kids for a minute. You both need to get a job. I'm not saying this because I think you're spoiled twerps or anything. Quite the opposite. I think you're both smart, talented, and capable young fellers. Getting a job at 15 was one of the only smart things I did as a kid. It taught me all kindza good life junk. Responsibility (financial and life), self reliance, social skills, self worth, the value of hard work. It gave me freedom from my Mom, and freedom to do as I chose. I didn't grow up poor, and I could have gotten by with out a job, but I wanted one. My first job was at a hardware store, so don't think automatically "McDonalds". There are hundreds of jobs out there that don't suck, or give you worse acne.
But Uncle Cobotron, I can't drive! SOOOOO!?!?! Granted in the state of Kansas, at 15, I could drive on a restricted license to school and to work, but trust me. If you got a job 2 or 3 days a week, and asked your parents if they could drive you, their jaws would drop to the floor and they'd be all, HULLZ YA!
Don't take this the wrong way ( I am by no means anti home school), but sooner or later you home schoolers are going to have to get out in the world and learn first hand how to deal with people and the good and the suckieness of the world. It's out there and it will eat you up if you're not ready. A good 14 hrs a week job is a great way to get this.

Plus... MONEYZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now no need to defend yourselves. Just a bit of advice from an old dude who has had a really good life because he made good decisions at an early age. I also made plenty of bad ones, and more than often learn everything the hard way.

Also, I KNOW Devastator is not getting any cheaper. If I can't get him, I can't get him. My point was, I want to get Devs before I get any other Titans Return figures or whatever. If I can't get him though, I'll cry it out, and then get the TR stuff I like. I am going to be really upset though if I can't get the Constructicons, since they are my favorite Decepticon team.

Life lessons from Mr. Cobo

I already am aware of the importance of a work ethic also Cobo. My point is that I don't feel comfortable working at retail or something when I could be working on our family company and helping us in the long-run. I am not being lazy, but just trying to determine things.

Nice talk Cobo, I appreciate listening to people give advice, especially those with some good stuff to give.

But back to some Transformers stuff, I will say that the Transformer I'm most proud of in my collection is Metroplex since he was my first online purchase and he was the first to come when i started getting a regular paycheck at school. I've maintained that job since and got plenty more, but Plexy was my first and my biggest to date, so he holds a special place in my heart even if he came without his missile

I got a job at 14, I was forced to for the summer by my mom, and damn am I glad she did that. My first shift was 17 hours. I learned real quick what "working" really was . It ended up not being just a summer job, and since then I don't think I've had more than 14 days off in a row (I'm 32). Because of that, I bought all kinds of things, including a new car when I was 18!

It really instills values and ethics, and the worse the job when you're younger, the harder it pushes you to succeed and become a candidate for good jobs.

Oh and N, I STILL think 50 bucks is a lot of money

Cobo, that is a good point. I thought N was a little older than he was, same with Bee21. When the age ain't in the profile I get all confused sometimes and shocked when I do learn these sorts of things!

To that, it honestly doesn't matter where. Wherever it is, you'll be at the bottom working up. And for kids its kinda limited between retail and restaurants. All I'd recommend is a proper restaurant and not fast food. At least you learn to cook, and chicks dig guys who can cook

It's more "Where can I convince my mom to take me to every day?". Retail or a restaurant would both be good, because I could either
A. Find new Transformers listings in computers.
B. Be able to cook good food.

That is true. Still I am the kind of guy that gets stressed easily when trying to cook for a bunch of people but trying to do it in good time and making the order right. But, still it would be better than fast food. I'm more of a computer artist guy, so I might do alright biding for doing artwork or something. Dunno though. Something to think about.

I can't say anything for Autobot N though.

Speaking as someone who works in food service, it's not bad. Really has shown me some creativity, helps get me through school (when I work, I can make myself a meal free of charge), and is a valuable life skill. Plus it's kinda fun, at least to me

Talkin' bout jorbs, I've been lucky enough to have been working since 12. Started out mowing lawns, detailing cars and working at a family friend owned driving range (where I also found that I had a natural golf swing) and then started paying taxes at 14 when I had a real job (Walmart and restaurants) and continued the others so I had all the moneys.

TL:DR? Join the workforce however, wherever you can. That's how I bought two different Specialized bikes, comics, my Sony PlayStation, my Sega Saturn, my Sega Dreamcast, every figure I had in the mid-late '90s, shoes, clothes, two cars, all by the time I graduated high school.

Then I got credit cards and it all went down hill.
