do you guys collect giant robots like voltron, and etc..
i was wondering if collecting robots like voltron or giant robots from the power rangers is popular or lame. does any of you collect 6 robotic cars or animals that transform into a giant robot beside transformers. if you do have robots like that, please post it here. btw i can't remember the name of an anime robot that has a lion head on the chest. can you tell me what's his name is.

I don't. I can barely afford to keep up with tfs, Alts being the biggest hole-burner out there for me.
Plus, after tfs, I don't think any other robot stuff can compare. Except Megas XLR. That stuff is 100% genius
And I like the way Kiva looks

i guess transformers as a series are a lot cooler than voltron, gundamn mobile suit put together. what made transformers so special is not only they have the ability to transform but also they all have emotions and individual personality. voltron and robotic warriors are pilot by humans. i guess there is not another animation which shares the similarity as them. thank god there's not a copycat of transformers besides gobot....

I do pick up other transforming bots out there. I picked up the Macross 1/48 "Super" VF-1J Stealth Type - with Missiles & Armor. Waiting for Maia Sterling's Shadow Fighter from the Shadow Chronicles to come out. I picked up a RoadBot. Pretty much if it looks cool in Bot and Alt mode (to me), I'll buy it.
Thinking about getting the Soul Of Chogokin GD-99 Aquarion and GX-13 Dancouga. I've read bad things about the Dancouga though.

I have a decent 1/60 Yamato collection of Valykries. I also like Robotech so I use their toys with my Macross line. There simpley aren't enough Zintradai(spl?) in the Macross line, so I have to use Robotech(Vintage Matchbox) toys.
Other that that, no other X-forming robots, unless they are KO's of something.

Some of the Japanese Macross toys out there are pretty cool, especially the Macross Plus pieces (if you have the money).
Otherwise, I only collect Transfromers as robot-based toys go. I have some Evangelion toys, but they don't really count as mecha/robots exactly, they are their own thing.

Actually I Was Collecting Micronauts And Shogun Warriors Before I Started On Transformers (Even When I Started Collecting TF's I Was Still Picking Up GoDaiKen Figures), So I Guess You Could Just Call Me A Big Fan Of Giant Robots. I Own A Few Gundam Figures Too, But I Just Didn't Get Into Them As Much.
Please Excuse The Way I Type, I Have Been Doing This For So Long, It Would Be Near Impossible To Retrain...

I'd like to get into other transforming robot series but the cost of them is just outrageous. Aquarion looks superb but I just can't throw out $140 after shipping. And what was that black one made of three robots? I can never remember the name. Looked insanely cool and goes for like $300 on eBay.

i started just collecting transformeers but as the movie doesn't interest me one bit i started to collect a few SOC figures, i think muffin means Gunbuster and he's well worth the £145 i spent on him, as for Aquarion, get him whilst you can as i got him on Big Grims advice and don't regret one bit, I also have a decent macross collection and I am concentrating on getting my Gundam Zeta collection updated with ZZ, Z II and the Gaplant all in 1/144 kits, I find them more enjoyable than Transformers as you spen the time constructing them first

Hmm. Nope not Gunbuster. It was a whole lot similar to Aquarion but it was black and the 3 figures that made it up had green red and blue detailing. It was pretty much like a reversed Aquarion. I'm also a Gundam model fan. Though I mainly stay in the Master Grade range. I still want a Perfect Grade Strike Rouge with Sky Grasper.

Imitatation! Ha! Getter Robo was the first transforming robot!

I'm big into GoDaiKin and vintage stuff like Clover and Popy. I also collect SoC as well.

My other big robot collection are SOC Dancouga, SOC Voltus V, SOC Combattler V, and Voltron. aside from that i have several Gundams.
Since i am a newbie, my transformers collection still limited compare to the other.
but my best beloved collection is the SOC Dancouga, it's the best so far

Nope, just transformers. I will only buy a different robot if it resembles transformers enough (in the sence that it transforms like a tf, and doesn't look too much unlike the style of tfs. Sorry, not a fan of getter robo styles or gundam.)

I've still got the Matchbox Voltron figures that have the pull-back & watch 'em go gimmick. I also tried getting into the Gundam phase when Gundam Wing came out in the states, but I only got 3 model kits and a couple figures. After that I was kinda "meh" toward them, but I get a kick out of watching Sgt. Frog going to great lengths to hunt down elusive ones in his manga.
*I just hyped the Sgt. Frog manga, didn't I?*

I used to be strictly into TFS, but when you live in Japan, you can't help but notice how badass some of the other robot stuff looks.
