Sad thing is that toys used to be a cheap fun thing to collect. I truely think Hasbro is intervening due to the potential for an increased aftermarket. They want "their share".
While they say that the toys are for kids there is no denying that Hasbro and other toy companies spend millions following trends like the collecting hobbies. Gradual increases in price allows them to test the waters. People didn't buy as much when the cost for deluxe was at, roughly, $12.00 retail, but people didn't care when the figures were say the most recent RTS, because they were short produced and sold out most places and were purchased by the collectors(mostly).
Now deluxe, at Walmart at least, is down about $2.00. Parents will notice that they are less than $10 and most likely me more willing to make that purchase. Itdoes suck that a price drop hasn't happened worldwide.
By the way, wasn't the Rapture supposed to have happened by now making toy purchases obsolete?

The problem is, is that when our dollar was was 0.80 American, the Deluxes were $13 Canadian. The dollar has no value in this, it's the fact that pricing are increasing because Hasbro is making it happen. No way in hell we go from $13 to $17 Deluxe based off of inflation.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. I realize Hasbro is raising the prices of their product. I don't know exactly why. Is it oil prices? Inflation? Something else? I don't know. I was just pointing out that Hasbro sells the product for the same or about the same to everyone. It's just that lower taxes in the US allow companies to sell cheaper and still obtain a desirable bottom line.
