I think that, while Unicron Trilogy wasn't the worst invesment in term of marketing resarch, Energon and Cybertron Cartoons series were hated by older fans (Maybe not as much as most fan fated Beast Machines at first, but still.). Propably, returning to UT seems too risky for Hasbro and IDW. However, I think that nicely incorporated UT ideas inI wonder if it's in IDW interests to do something with the unicron trilogy
The Headmasters cartoon did that before all else:TurboMMaster wrote:The main reason why i like Armada/Energon Universe - it was the only time in history of Transformers Cartoons, where there was a Redshirt Army for Autobots. Of course, the way it was portraied was just silly, but still it was the only time outside Video Games, when there was entire grups of Autobots killed in battles.

The Autotroopers were a homage to the Autoroopers from Kiss Players:chaosmage42 wrote:this is one problem with the old g1 stuff when they make disposables they don't look like they belong -they don't look like transformers that much -personally i liked the auto trooper form animated those looked like army units even if their all the same at least they look transformable kibble ect

Kiss Players is more underrated than people give it credit for. For good reason, mind you, but if one were to completely eliminate all of the skeeviness from that series, one would see that it does contain two very interesting storylines.chaosmage42 wrote:yes and it was a good concept the generic autobot-im not going to touch the concept of kiss players as that is just kinda weird

True, but Headmasters are Japan-exclusive series, so they aren't mainstream series in eastern region. Isn't this even non-canon in US?Sabrblade wrote:The Headmasters cartoon did that before all else
Well, considering Japan is in the Far East, I think Headmasters would be mainstream in the Eastern region.TurboMMaster wrote:True, but Headmasters are Japan-exclusive series, so they aren't mainstream series in eastern region.Sabrblade wrote:The Headmasters cartoon did that before all else
