G1 Sludge question

Heya folks, my question isn't kitbash related but I thought this might be the best place to get an answer. As I collect G1 figures, I pick pieces I can restore to near pefection. I do this by dismantling the figure into all it's components, removing all the old stickers, washing all the bits, dry and then reassemble. Then they get Reprolabels to complete them. Sometimes, while breaking the figure down, I come across internal parts that fall out before I am able to see inside. This means that I sometimes don't know where a piece goes back in exactly. So here we are. I was taking apart Sludge last night and his chest and back separated. Inside were two small rectangles of metal. I believe they are meant to be friction pieces for the arm posts and that they are supposed to rest inside the die cast portion vertically. However I can't confirm this and I would like to be sure. It seems to be correct at least. Would anyone be willing to help me out by dismantling theirs? Maybe snap a pic as well? I'd really like to be sure I got it right. Thanks!
