Well, it's been almost a year since the Nintendo Wii was released to the masses. And as we all know, it was impossible to get hold of back then, as most were sold on preorder (I was lucky enough to go to TRU on a tf run and find 7 hidden by a worker woman- hiding it from scalpers ).

Some stock leaked out through the year, but as christmas sneaks forward once more, Wii stocks are still dwindling. That's right, yet again meager stocks of what appears to be the world's favourite console.

It seems that a lot of people won't be receiving one this christmas. But I do have some advice to pass on from our dear friends at BBC news.


In Germany, the Wii is still in more or less plentiful stock, whether it's because our neighbours have yet to receive their christmas bonuses, or because they are more careful with their money I don't know.
We have also been told that most German internet stores will not sell Wii stock to other countries. But there are some sites that will still do it. I have no names myself, but if you are Wii hunting this year check around teh net!




If that isn't an option, I suggest the standard tf hunting strategy; venture out to every store you know that could possibly stock the item, and ask any and every staff member you can find.

360 stock is the same as always- some movers.

i know for a fact that atleast one of the gamestops here is holding 6wii's for black friday. So for those still out there looking for one...you might sniff around your local GS/EB

The reason is that Germany doesn't like the Wii that much, not next Gen style like the XBOX or PS3.

Depends where you go. I snagged a Christmas Wii just randomly while picking up a pre-order of Super Mario Galaxy. My giftee will be so pleased.

I got my xmas wii 2 months early( I love my wife). I had to do the hunting though.

I got my Wii last Christmas $400 on ebay still in box all the way from Japa- New Jersey some buissiness man just bought it to sell for a load of cash on ebay and tha's just what he got.

Those things just sit at stores around me. Anyone who wanted one, got one around here already.

I assure you MY Wii story is a bit more entertaining. I waited in line for the longest time at a Best Buy and I was somewhat far back in the line and they had tickets. If the employees gave you a ticket, you got a Wii. They started handing out tickets after a while and the person RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME GOT THE LAST TICKET! And I was seriously about to snap when I saw an employee heading toward me with a ticket because apparently SOME IDIOT had given someone 2 tickets(only one ticket allowed per customer) and I got the ticket. Then when I was Inside Some lady was about to grab the last Wii AND SHE HAD NO TICKET and I am thinking "over my dead body you're getting that Wii" so I grabbed it. And I got WarioWare and a classic controller. So that's the story of how I got my Wii.
