Help me remember who this robot was (description only)

Postby JayDee » Thu Feb 19, 2009 5:40 pm

I had a flashback of a japanese cartoon that I watched a couple of episodes back in the 80s... it was some sort of Voltron-ish squad, and their vehicles combined into a super robot. The robot was formed by 5 motorcycles, where two regular bikes were the arms, two bikes with sidecars were the legs, and a huge black tricycle was the torso. The robot's main weapon was a sword. I had the toy set, and boy was that one of the coolest figures I've ever had since it was as big as the lions Voltron and the bikes were extremely well crafted and detailed. The toy for this character was somehow famous here in Mexico, and the company that distributed the toy changed the robot's name to Cyclotron (though this is not the real name of the character.) They never aired the cartoon here (I watched it from a mecha-style cartoon collection VHS they had at a video rental store.) Does it ring a bell to anyone? I have not found any reference to it at Google or other search engines, nor pics of the toy or the company that distributed it (which I'm almost sure was Ensueño, Mexico.)

Thanks for the answer, GetterDragun... but no. That's not it... I'm really having a hard time finding out who the robot is. The bikes are paired, so the ones that form the arms are practically two of the same bike model, but different color (blue and yellow to say something...) and the same for the legs, and again, the legs are bikes with sidecars. The only black vehicle is the torso, which is a tricycle bike. But they are all bikes, and Acrobunch has cars, bikes and a jet from what is shown there... and the look of Acrobunch is not that close to the guy I'm talking about... again, thanks!

By the way, Nujevad... this is the set I had:

I distinctively remember the sidecars flip over to the back of the legs, and the torso's spikes fold down when in bike mode. It's cool to have the info for this. Thans again! :APPLAUSE:

PS: By the way, this was the first toy I bought with money I earned for helping my mom with chores.
