Egg beasts!!:



Actually they were called "MeteorRobo" in the Microman days... hmmm, the first Protoform Meteor toys perhaps? some of the most beautiful of the MicroChange series unreleased outside Japan, a similar set to the microcassettes, but they change into mettalic balls. They were released in 1998 as part of the Japanese Beast Wars toyline under the name "Egg Beasts", and were attached to key chains, Tamagotchi style.

I sooo want to track these down.. they are my Microchange Holy Grails..next to a pack of transformable cassettes for soundwave!!

The MC-13 Walther P-38 U.N.C.L.E. Set as what would later become known as "Megatron", the lead antagonist of the original Transformers series, leader of the "Decepticons". What you may not be aware of is, that the ORIGINAL Microman version, could fire small plastic bullet-shaped projectiles. you also may have noticed the presence of two tiny fold-out pegs on the scope and some other unexplained anomalies on the attachments: these were for a configuration of the attachments that made a cannon that could seat a Microman action figure:


(I'm sure some of you hardcore guys have better pics of the Browning and possibly others..)

MC-07: Browning M1910 is the first and smallest of the toy guns. It has large bullets it can fire, or when a robot it can launch its right fist. It was released as a Transformer only in Japan under the name "Browning" and reportedly had 3 or so color variations.


MC-11: '44 Magnum is the BIGGEST of the toy guns, and most well-built. It has a revolving chamber that can hold 6 small plastic projectiles (the same as MC-12 and 13's) that can be fired. It also has a launching left fist. this incidentally is the most sought after transformable gun i have ever wanted and damn transformer revolver, that is sooo cool!!!

MC-12: Walther P-38 is black and has no attachments but is otherwise identical to MC-13.

for cost reasons, i'm shying away from the microman guns.. they will be very expensive I'm sure.. but I want to hunt down the egg bots key chains!! I totally want them all!! Anyone know where I can find them??

you want some eggbeasts? how about some kiss players sparkobots - evil heralds of unicron in lovely pretty colours schemes, exactly the same molds tho

Given the choice of alt modes ive allways thought the eggbeasts look like what soundwave would bring with him if he were on a bowling team. Its like a sperical lazerbeak ravage and rumble.

and on your second point ive allways preffered te browning design to megatron - the proportions are alot better in robot mode.

The takara bookstyle reissue megatron restores his origonal ablility to shoot pellets as well as coming with every concivable accesory for megatron as well.

The recently re-released the "Egg" formers. They are in some ugly neon colours. I can't find any now, but I know they were released. Maybe they are what MegaDave is referring to?

They were recently rereleased under the kiss players line with the keychains attached same as in beast wars.

They were each given a colourscheme, name and symbol chosen by the female voice actors that play the 3 main characters in the kiss players radio series.

Not exactly neon - (they dont glow or anything but maybe your just using the term to describe colours you just dont like) but nasty girly pastel shades were used.
They come with a cd and an art card in the packaging for them. bit of an obscure release not suited to western tastes given the amount of japanese strangeness forced upon otherwise cool modes.

So there was a release, i knew I wasn't crazy.. but I prefer the metallic ones, those funky girly colored ones don't interst me..

Those egg beasts are awesome. They'd be ideal for Soundwave if he turned into some sort of ball machine.



I agree that Browning has far nicer proportions than Megatron. Has a boring head though - Megatron's looks so much more evil.

I like that that's funny..

They remind me of Armada Dead End and the Music Label Frenzy/Rumble.
