the captain from firefly vs the former commander of sg1. they both have a great deal of combat experience, their both good with a gun and skilled at hand to hand combat. they both have a simplistic approach to combat, but are capable of devising complex stratigies if the situation calls for it.

you can decide the specifics and the scenario.

Well Jack has saved the Earth many times had has ancient genes to boot. Mal may be a good shot but may money would be on O'Neil.

Lets see, Malcolm Reynolds has been shot at, shot, stabbed, nearly paralyzed (and still came out with the win BTW) and has had numerous attempts on his life by equally or better equipped/trained adversaries.

Jack O'Neill tosses off some colloquial one liners, fires off a P90 and then tells Carter she needs to pull a Deus Ex Machina out of the Demon Hole.

Oh and BTW its spelled O'NEILL, two Ls, he makes a point of this in the series.

You forgot the parts where O'Neill has to pretend his has a symbiote, has the "knowledge" inside him TWICE, freezes himself for his and the Earth's safety, has been shot at by guns as well as weapons that hurt a he|| of a lot more, and so forth.

Yeah, but did Jack O'Neill bring down the government of an Entire solar system?

Goa'uld are not a true government, they are a Fractured Feudalistic Dictatorship with no central power base and massive infighting over power.

Also did Jack O'Neill nearly single handedly command the entire remaining force (4000 men) as a sergeant in a losing battle and fight it to nearly a stalemate before the Enemy brought in heavy support? I think not.

Malcolm Reynolds is one million times the soldier that Jack O'Neill ever could be.
