If one is hating it just to justify the decision of buying the third party version, there is no need as we are in a situation where there are a couple of MP Megatron toys to choose from. Some people are happy with the bulky look. I am not since I grew up with the cartoon G1 Megatron and the unofficial ones tend to have the proportions more like the comics. However, there are people who prefers the bulkier Megatron over the skinnier MP-36 Megatron, and that is fine since liking one thing doesn't make you wrong.
As others have said, the figure is too new to see if the QC problems are wide spread. Even if it is, we have had third party figures break on us before. This isn't just a Hasbro or Takara Tomy problem. It is the nature of expensive toys as they are made up of small and delicate parts. It sounds a bit odd that the more money we spend on a figure, the more fragile it is. However, it is true as someone who also buys 1/6 figures, some pieces can be very fragile when handling because of the small scale. It saddening that people are reporting breaking issues.
Since you are also a 1/6 fig connoisseur, just like me, we all know it comes with the territory. Expecting a fig not to break is well, unrealistic. Heck, some of my G1 toys and BW figs just broke up (due to age and materials used most possibly) without being manhandled at all.
And since we already now/aware of the potential, what do we do? Avoid damaging the item. Of course you can refuse to buy one until an improved version comes about or get it consequences be d@mned!
That's the collectors life. Though it can be annoying that some heckling comes about between 3rd party and 1st party supporters. To each his own preference right? Especially posts like "mine doesn't break up while your's does". It's like comparing apples and avocadoes. Different design, manufacturers, different materials. And besides heckling or complaining what good does it do?
The best to channel all the negativity and email the manufacturer right? Wait! Takara doesn't give a slag to Non Japanese customers!

And, your Megs hasn't broken up yet! Wait for it to break?
Write Hb? Unless you get them direct through HB Asia I suppose and wait for a replacement? But realistically, I doubt there will be a mass recall if there be only 5% of the entire stock. Heck, even through Sabr reports, the breakages are due to mishandling (?) I'm putting a (?) because we aren't sure yet and I don't want to be one of the statistics who has a broken Megs
