Do you remember when Perceptor says "I think I deduce the problem"?, well, I think I may find a solution. It's more easy to fix this if you think in the broken pieces as a broken bone, in some cases it only needs to get immobilized to heal, in other cases, it needs titanium screws, and in the case of my MP 1 knee, I forgot to tell you that before the patch, I cement the two pieces of the knee (it was not meant to get separated anyway), in this case, it was like a broken bone with a thick styrene patch as a titanium screw. In the case of the broken cannon, I would use industrial glue, and if it's posible, a larger screw, that also can work with the broken leg piece, and in the case of the broken lef joint, I would need to take a closer look, it would need a plastic patch, hard and thin enough to give the repaired piece a long life and also that can be used.

Maybe you would ask me, "ok, let's say that I fix my MP 36, what if doesn't look well?" Let me tell you that when I fix something, I first check that repair Works well, and later that the repair also looks well, but sometimes, by getting the first, I get the second at the same time, if you don't believe me, ask Optimus.

The MP-01 paint apps are quite a let down. I don't know what type Takara used but on my 1st release version, it's forming what appears to be robot scabies. And on the shins' sharp edges, they are all but worn out already.

Probably not. The Reveal the Shield Legends Megatron waa specifically designed with MP-11 in mind. If you finagle it, you might could get it in MP-36's hand, but I don't know.

I doubt it. MP-11's hands are much blockier and rectagonal, while MP-36's hands are cylindrical and organic looking to match the style used back in the 80's cartoon and comics. You might be able to get it to work, but it would probably hold pretty poorly.

Previous posts had a comparison between Megs ver 1 and ver 2 and the many G1 3rd party incarnations. I did a little review of comparing the price this time (G1 incarnations only)

Takara ver 2= $ 224.38 [with stock extension + all the bling ]* Based on current fx exchange rate

MTRM 08 = $ 140.00 [ no stock extension ]

DX-09 = $ 95.00 [ no stock extension ]

TW O1B = $ 74.00 [ no stock extension/ with new face ]

So the prices are now at a reverse or tanking?

As a general rule, if there was a third party Masterpiece of a character that didn't have an official Masterpiece but now does have one - or has been confirmed to be getting one in the very near future - that third party Masterpiece will go down in price. Happened with Shockwave, happened with Inferno, and it's looking like it's happening with Megatron.

Of course Megatron did have a Masterpiece before, but it was one were many were infamously unsatisfied with. And it didn't work with a general Masterpiece display either.

So... yeah. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mightron, Despotron or Appolyon at rather low and inciting prices now.

Keep in mind not all sellers have Mp-36 that high. If that was the case, I would've never bought one.

TW 01B was around $ 100+ at BBTS but it's down to $ 74.00. Either the stores are dumping the stocks (the other price quotes for the 3rd party are from alibaba) or the 3rd party either like making a killing with their inflated prices or really taking a hit now with Takara going full throttle with their MP line.

Okay, not to you directly Kuronabut to any so called expert at overseas online pricing.

A big deal was made with how Amiami were "deflating" their prices with the local tax or something not really being included at all when overseas buyers get their "early bird" purchases.

Then why is it that now, after his official release, Amiami is now selling Megs at full 24840Y? Is there something here we don't know? I got mine at around 17000Y ++. What's the logic here?

I wouldn't be surprised either way; an official version, unless as disliked as MP-05 or the like really kills the appeal a third party version had so making it cheap gives a different appeal.

I'm not sure why you included Hegemon in that list. He's CHUG scale not MP. Apollyon is the figure you're looking for. On eBay he's going for $100-150 and is on TFsource for $150.

3rd party G1 style at uber high price range. TF 1st party CHUG Megs would barely brake $ 70 ++

To my mind, here's the thing. The new MP Megatron is so hard to transform, and has so many QC issues, chipping and breakage, that it looks like most people will be just leaving him in robot mode, and avoid risking any damage. So if I am going to be plunking down a bunch of your mortal 'smackers' for a really cool Megatron figure, and NOT transforming it? Then I may as well wait until something like the MAS02 Megatron figure comes out and get that instead.

I mean, if you're not going to transform it, then you may as well get one that's specifically designed to look and be superior in Robot mode.....

Looking to take the plunge on mp36, but do we know if tfsource is putting orange plugs on their figures? bbts has a huge disclaimer at the bottom on their listing, but I dont see anything for tfsource.

Also I'm slightly tempted to wait, since I have big feeling takara will be releasing a toy variant in shiny silver :POPCORN:

The MAS types costs nearly a 10 Benjamins compared to 2 Benjamins.

Hopefully this might be a different situation but what was the years interval from the time Takara released MP-05 ver 1, ver 2 and ver 3 aka Electrum version + Reflector?

Does anyone have pictures of the paint chipping issues on MP-36? I've been curious as to how bad it can actually get. Mine's on it's way in the mail, and I'm planning to keep him in robot mode and pose him. Will I run a decreased risk of chipped paint if I'm careful with my posing?
