I went to the free preview screening of the movie with jsmith tonight and enjoyed it very much even though it was definitely a Michael Bay film. It was really fun to be able to pick out the stuff that was filmed in Detroit. You can see the Fort St sign very clearly a few times. Just wanted to say a few things about it and I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible. You guys get a warning anyway.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

The only thing I really take issue with is the cheese factor. Frenzy was pretty much all cheese. Other than that, it would have been nice if the Decepticons had had more than one personality. Also, there was one glaring plot hole toward the end. Why would anyone, when faced with the level of destruction caused by a battle between giant robots, choose to leave the relative seclusion of the Hoover Dam and say, "Hey, we should take the thing that these guys are fighting over and go to the middle of a large city where plenty of people, buildings and cars can be severely damaged."? I guess my final review would be three out of five stars. Also, Jazz was tragically annoying and I'm glad Megatron ripped him in half.

I too was at a free screening last night. Star Theater, Grand Rapids, oneof our our crappier radio station 104.5 was giving out tickets.

And I must say, it is the movie I've wanted to see for 20 years. It was all taken seriously, the action was cool, and it honored the source material sigificantly.

For those of you that haven't yet seen it, the old script we all got a hold of a while back is way off now. Keeping spoiler free for the time being, the movie does NOT begin in the Arctic, the Tank is definitely named Devestator not Brawl, and seeing Prime's face in motion wasn't bad at all. Ten seconds in I didn't even question it.

I guess to make it fun, I'll open it up to questions and keep it spoiler free till Monday. If you guys are like I am, I couldn't wait to find out WHEN bumbleee got his voice back, if Megatron died or retreated at the end, and if Megatron got an Earth mode. I needed to find out so bad I asked my fiance to look through the TPB of the movie adaptation a week or more ago. Even the TBP isn't right anymore--stuff has changed since they drew up and wrote the pages.

Yes, though Frenzy is cheese. . . but forgivable he moved and acted like one of those Pit Droids from Star Wars 1.

spartybot and i found the RH prime w/matrix/unicron and jazz/thundercracker packs last night at the roseville TRU. they had a bunch of them.

no movie arcee or the other deluxes.

Hey guys. I"m at the apple store providence place. it's in the mall connected to the convention center.. there's already a line for the iphone. they started lining up at 6am for the 6pm event. who does that sound like? :grin:

I"m out here with TFPredaking and PQP. we got our box sets and souvenier figures last night. Long wait, but defitely worth it. all of us got both sets. they are really cool. tfpredaking is on the hasbro tour right now. Updates will be infrequent.. we don't have internet access at our hotel :sad:

glad everyone is finding new stuff at home.

Well, I would be extremely jealous if my weekend here wasn't shaping up to be pretty damn cool. I got to see the preview screening of the movie yesterday, I'm hanging out with an interesting new someone tomorrow, and I'm going to the Tigers game on Sunday. Not only that but next week will be equally jam packed with coolness thanks to the free "Weird Al" show at the Taste Fest (excuse me, "City Fest") on Thursday and the Reel Big Fish/Less Than Jake show on Friday.

Who did the Pistons end up drafting? Who went first in the NBA draft?

NO mcBride came in pitched a few strong innings and then de la cruz came in and gave up like 6 more....we lost 11 to 1

OK Draft time...Oden went first Durant second

Pistons picked up Rodney Stuckey out of Eastern Washington...good pickup I think...with Hunter getting up there in age we could us a good guard off the bench.

They also picked up Arron Afflalo out of UCLA in the first round Again a young guard....described as a Dumars like player

and lastly on the most important note...I will be looking for those totally awesome target basics again today....lol

Hello From Botcon!!!

PQP and I have been unable to post because RC13's darn Mac computer won't allow him to log off from seibertron.com and I finally remembered to bring mine :grin:

The convention as whole has been really good and the Hasbro Tour was incredible!! I was on the tour with Ryan and Getterdragun which was a blast! You guys should check out Ryans posts and pics about it!!

This is probably the best Botcon out of the 5 I've been to, but not the best for G-1 toy selection. There are only a few dealers that have good selections of G-1 toys, but lots of dealers selling movie toys really well at inflated prices.

PQP saw a guy selling Movie Starscreams, Ratchets etc for $30 each plus 7% tax and cleaning house, he was almost out yesterday and the general public wasn't even in yet :???:

It's been a blast to hang out with Ryan (seibertron), Dave (Getterdragon), Andrew (PQP), and Todd (RC13)

Target on Edgewood in Lansing had one set of Robot Heroes Jazz & Thundercracker.

They also had 4 or 5 each of the new basics Strog Arm, Clocker and Skyblast.

South Lansing Kmart had 3 Beatamix Bumblebee's (or whatever they are called) and a leader class Megatron.

Just popping in to say Hi and see how all you guys were doing.
I finally managed to find a new job even if it is less then glamorous. Hopefully I'll be able to start picking up some of the movie toys. I don't think I've gotten anything new since I met up with PQP in April. hahaha
