How is he? I already know he looks great! I hear he's quite fragile. What else can you tell me? Is he more fragile than MP Starscream? (Wal-Mart exclusive if it makes a difference.) Is his transformation 'good' difficult? I love complex transformations, but I'm not as big on finicky, difficult transformations where it's just a pain to line up the panels. Oh, and is the plug easily removable?

He is the most fragile MP ever! The transformation is very complex, in ways of both being chalanging and running the fear that certain parts will surely flush your money(I've been lucky).

He has none of the weight that the other MPs have, and I can't help but wonder why, as it would probably only serve to strengthen him. Realy, this guy is no match for Prime(which is sad), expect no dancing YouTube videos.

Possability is difficult, but when you get the balance down, GAME FRIGGIN ON!

The extras are real nice too :D

I do recomend him though, however he is the epidimy of a display piece. Unlike Prime and The Seekers, this guy should be picked up hardly ever.

The plug is easy to remove, at least mine was. Came right out with a pair of pliers. Great figure, but not for everybody. Like Liege stated it's a display piece, very complex transformation, and quite fragile. I got the Justitoys perfect kit to go with him, the metal calf pieces help add weight to his lower body aiding in posing.

Do you know if it's glued, or just snugly pushed in?

Also, I recall talk of rusting issues...anyone know if that was MP or the G1 reissue or both? And, if MP, was that a select few’s bad luck or a common occurrence?

And thanks for your guys' input so far!

lug is glued in but still EZ to remove, also I head of "rust" but mines less than a few month out of pakage and no signs of it. i try not to handle his feet much. the oils on yer skin might add to the problem. fragile yes. light yes. but if your a collector like me and are carefull youll be ok.

I've have mine since early October and no signs of rust. I think this occurence turned out to be more a case of tarish rather than rust, and that it was easily removed. The only problem I have had with mine is when in gun mode the upper and lower arm pieces that form the rear top portion of the gun don't line up properly. Not that big of an issue since I don't plan to display him in gun mode and I could possibly correct it with a little work. I know others have had the shoulder screws strip and trouble with the legs. I've been lucky.

He's a real big dissappointment to me. The plastic is cheap ,and the pegs break easily. Broke two pegs ,and it doesn't hold from the bottom in gun mode. You are better off buying the original instead.

I thought that. It's cos the elbow joints aren't sliding far enough down. Try this: rotate the forearm 90degrees and push the elbow further until it clicks. Then carefully jiggle everything into place. The elbows will slip out of that position a few times but it can be done with a bit of fiddling and swearing.

Me too - his arms are very unposeable - he desperately needs more 'wingspan'. And why they gave him rotating thigh joints and rotating lower knee joints instead of a rotating joint above the elbow is beyond me.
I don't think the plastic is cheap - it's just cos there are large sheets of thin plastic involved. I haven't broken anything cos I read so many reports about him being fragile I was VERY careful with him.
He looks great as a display piece with Prime but don't expect anywhere near the playability that Prime gives.

He great, but somewhat fragile. He is still the greatest Megs ever made and one of the most involved, yet well-designed figures, too.

I have no complaints about him. Megs is everything I could expect.

if you don't treat it like a toy, you'll love it. seriously, at $150+... it isn't a deluxe or oven leader. don't play with it like one. MP prime is misleading in that it's so sturdy you don't have to be careful. but look at megs and starscream, both have 'fragility' problems. you wouldn't rough house with a Master Replicas piece, would you? if it's treated like a collector's piece, it won't break. you will love it. it will wreck ass on the rest of your collection

Dammit, reading this thread is giving me second thoughts. I got credit for bbts.com and was gonna use it for MP Megs, I mean he's like a gotta have figure right? But fragile? Weak? Hard to balance? No weight to him?

At least Dealer gave me some light on this one. You're normally dead on with figures.

I got mine the other day and I'm a bid disappointed with him especially compared to MP-04 but I'm still glad I have him.

He has no weight to him and the ball joints in his ankles move too easily allowing him to flop over. His extremely large arm cannon looks ridiculous attached to his arm and I couldn't get him to stand with it on as the weight distribution was off and made him slump over. His arms/elbows have limited articulation and can only bend up and down not out. I was also disappointed with his fingers, while each finger moves independently, they are not segmented. I also wish his waist could swivel (maybe it can but I didn't want to force it since that is a weak point of the figure).

He still looks great in my collection and I feel it wouldn't be right to not have him next to Prime so I'm still glad I got him at a decent price. If he was more expense than the current prices I wouldn't have purchased him.

Wow...pretty much the same situation here. That's why I started this thread. I received an offer from BBTS for some figs (thanks to your post actually) and was trying to determine whether to accept. Got a pretty nice offer, but it's only worthwhile if I can find something I want from them. Think I'm planning to go for it...so don't grab the last one!

lol, wow, thats pretty cool. I think they have a couple in stock so dont worry about that. I really want Megs, but im hesitant to drop that much cash on him if he's only a "display" figure.

When i first saw the pics of MP-05 i was so blown away that i had to have him and Ive started collecting again because of him. Ive had many different bots in my time and have "played" with them all.
He is fragile, there is no doubt about it. If you drop him he will probabily "cease to function". I also collect and build models and miniatures and these are WAY more delicate. I still handle all my models and minis, transport the around to play table top games and i can keep them from breaking. So handling and transforming MP-05 wasnt impossible for me. You have to be patient and take your time with him. Dont force anything. take your time to figure out how parts move and connect before pulling on them.
I found that bending his knees and hips a notch, as well as spredding his legs a bit helps him stand just fine. I've been looking at all the MP pics in the gallery as well as the ones in REMI's gallery and you can get an idea how to make him look good standing from these pics.

As for weather or not to get him, is just depends what you want in a TF figure. If you want to fly him around and smash him into Prime without him breaking, this piece is not for you. But if you want an amazing "materpiece" of toy engineering that has ultra detail and is just BIG, or just truly love Megatron this is a must have....and you'll probably regret it in five years if you don't.

Maybe I'm just a lucky bastard, but my MP Megatron seems to be a pretty sturdy one. No, really, I can't say he's fragile without lying.
I transformed him a couple of times with little to no problem. And he survived a fall from my display cabinet without any damage, too.
I can attest to the fact that he is poorly balanced, but getting the JustiToys upgrade fixes a lot of those issues.
Currently looking for:
- the projectile for Cybertron Supreme Class Starscream's arm cannon
- a gun barrel for Classics Jetfire's (the little black thingy that plugs onto the front of his swing-out shoulder cannons)
- the rotor for Micromaster Tracer (from the Military Patrol)

If you have one of the above and want to part with it, please PM me!

If you hold him he seems light and fragile. I['ve heard more than one story of him suriving from toppling from a shelf, though.

But I've also heard more than one story about a tab or two breaking off because someone wasn't careful. I don't wanna press my luck.

Me ... I don't play with my TFs too often. I like to post them in my display, but play? Not really. And there are ways to make him look good. Having him just standing there ... not so much.

Yeah while I was fixing my collection up I noticed that sadly my MP Meg has yellowing chrome. So what IS the best possible way to remove it without damaging it even more?

I think most of the people here are beyond 'playing' in the 'flying-them-around-making-gun-noises-and-smashing-them-together' sense. The people here seem to be serious collectors who will treat them with respect but change the poses around from time to time. Megatron can survive that, it's just that after Prime and Starscream you won't find Megatron as much fun cos he's more limited.
