guys, i recently received a nice bonus from work and i plan on adding to my alt collection. right now i only have prime,skids,ricochet,rumble,ravage,tracks,and rodimus.(i can proudly say that i only spent a total of $30 for all of them and they're all misb) i've decided to get 5 more so my question is, out of the remaining alts, which 5 would you guys get?

I suggest Hound, Smokescreen, Meister, Prowl and Decepticharge.




Good luck getting hold of a decent Prowl though. Most of the fools that are selling him snapped one of the **** wing mirrors off. Prats.

My opinion:

1)Smokescreen is a must

2) A Jeep Wrangler is a must for any Alternator collection. If you're willing to pay extra $$$, Hound can be found(rhymes, too). If not, Rollbar is pretty easy to find and very good.

3) One of the Dodge Vipers also seems like a good bet. I would go with Sideswipe.

4) Wheeljack or Grimlock. The latter is easier to find at this point.

5) Mirage can be found on several online stores now and simply looks amazing.

Prowl would seem like a must for me, but he's just so hard to find at this point outside of Ebay and I just don't know if I like Alternator Prowl as much as the others I mentioned.

shockblast is my fave alt in my collection. A must-have if you ask me. Meister/jazz a close 2nd.

availability isn't an issue. a friend of a friend has all of them and said i can pick whatever ones i want.

Most of the toys in this line don't appeal to me, but I really like Hound and Wheeljack.

One of the jeep mold (Hound is my favourite)
One of the Mustang mold (I like Grimlock)
One of the Mazda's (Meister with added reprolabels is cool)

That is all.

In terms of Prowl, I prefer the BT version over the Alt. In terms of Alt, I suggest getting Smokescreenor Silverstreak/Bluestreak, Meister/Jazz, Mirage, Hound and Wheeljack or Grimlock

get a mustang mold and Deceptcharge

try to get one of each mold.

Personally think you should definitely add,

Shockblast,
Wheeljack
Dead End
and any one of the jeep molds

lots of love for hound so far. i'm set on wheeljack but still contemplating the other four. i heard decepticharge and prowl are pretty rare so maybe those two as well.

if you did not mind Alt. Prowl's baby blue interior, you can get him. The baby blue is on his legs, around his head, his gun, etc.

- Mirage (just fantastic looking, probably my favorite)
- Wheeljack (up there with Mirage as far as "cool" factor)
- Sideswipe (my favorite Viper, not crazy about the competition style Vipers.)
- Shockblast (My favorite RX-8. It has the Mazdaspeed body kit)
- Prowl (do the leg mod to experience his awesomeness)

Well, that's 5 ... but Hound is a no brainer. If there is 1 jeep to get, it's him.

If you can get Nemesis Prime, I'd get him, instead of one of the others.

I have an Alt Rumble, loose, and missing a foot. I don't know anything about Alts since I didn't lie the scale and look of them. I noticed that Rumble sells at Brian's Toys for something like $80 MIB.

Is a loose Alt Rumble rare at all? I don't really want him, and he's too complex for my son, who only knows Rumble as a cartoon cassette anyways. I'm thinking about selling or trading him.

that is correct...Alts are pretty complex at times. In terms of Rumble, I do not think that he is that rare...the store is asking alittle too much for him but I could be wrong.

Get the Stangs and Hound. I love Hound. Mirage would be a nice grab too if you dont have him already.

first gen, i don't blame u for feeling that way. i've just been extremely lucky and have been very patient. here's the breakdown of how i did it:

i got prime,skids,and ricochet via trade for a hasbro reissue prime. i got ravage(jaguar) and rumble via trade for a cc bumblebee that someone gave me and i paid $15 each for tracks and rodimus from a local collector that i met a few weeks ago and there u have it, $30 total.

Thanks for explaining it Kimmer. Although you might have received some of your traded away figures for free, but they represent values as well. Hasbro reissue prime worths about $65, cc bumblebee about $11, plus the $30 cash you paid for local deal, the approximate total value you gave up was about $106. Awesome deal still for all those Alts you got.

i guess that's another way to look at it. reissue prime and '09 bb were both gifts plus i already had a hasbro reissue prime so i didn't really lose anything there. i'm just saying that MY actual out of pocket expenses for all my alts is $30.

Get a jeep. I have Swindle and he's fantastic, if you dont mind the bright colour. He also has thicker tyres and a front grill bar that is missing on Hound.

Get a Mazda. It's a slight remould of the Subaru in terms of transforming, but those little changes make a helluva difference. Shockwave, err, I mean Shockblast is the one I have and I love him. Especially as he stands out from other robots by having a very unique head sculpt and a gun for a hand. He also has a spoiler on his back (not on Jazz) and I believe his front grill is more streamlined than Jazz.

I would suggest Mirage, but you already have Rodimus, so you have the GT40 mould. But Mirage is tie with Shockwave as my absolute favs from the line.

I am still looking for alt Prowl and Meister if you're willing. If anyone else has them mint- loose or otherwise- pm me.

Well, Id tell you grab them all if you can, but thats cause I absolutely love the alternator line. Its what got me back into TF collecting. I only have 3 of them cause the stores around here carried limited supplies and my stepkids destroyed two of them (Meister/Jazz and Mirage).

Whichever ones you get you wont be disappointed, they are such great additions to your collection. And if you can get Binaltechs WHOA HO NELLY!!! Go for it.
