I'm sure most people have seen this, but I'm not sure if this is against TOS (sorry mods), but I checked TFW2005 and noticed that a member there by the name of Deceptigtar posted a review of the new Dinobot there. It's loaded with GREAT pics and very detailed. Here's the link:

I didn't see any mention of this at all on the boards, so I figured I'd post it.

I'm really loving this figure now. The pictures with him CORRECTLY transformed really do him justice, and the fact that you can change his hands really is great. This is now a must have figure in my book.

I still don't understand the extraneous claws on the chest in alt mode. The alt mode only looks good from above or behind; any view that exposes the chest or underside ruins any illusion of it looking like a dino.

They're not claws, they're an attempt at replicating Dinobot's ribbed robot mode. They just come out looking real bad.

Mkall, I'm not sure what you're looking at, but he's talking about the claws on his chest in DINO mode.

Those claws DO serve a purpose though. They give you the option of giving him fists in bot mode, or claws (like he had on the show) in bot mode. Given that they look so damn good in bot mode, I'll forgive them in Dino mode.

Tfw2005 member Deceptigtar has posted some very detailed images of the upcoming Transformers Universe deluxe Dinobot toy. These images show what it looks like correctly transformed and give us a look at one of the figures gimmicks, that allows you to choose between Beast Wars show accurate hands and modern fists.

i like him the icon is bit smaller than i expected to be cant believe im saying this doesnt matter what color they use on his he would look good even allspark blue color would look good.

I had originally written this guy off since I'm not an extreme fan of the character or even the show, but these pictures somehow make that dino mode look a bit tighter. And his robot mode looks dead-on accurate as well... I may end up picking him up after all and starting a little BW display off to the side of my Classics somewhere with Cheetor...

I'm getting him no matter what as I'm a fan of Dinos and Dragons and what-not. And the hand-switching gimmick ended up looking great

That same gimmick is the bane of the Dino mode chest though...

The colors just don't do it for me. The purple face, and too dark brown body. Hasbro was so close to making a show accurate toy, and just screwed up the paint apps.

Of course the Henkei version will be spot on.

Anyone else think Hasbro and TakaraTomy are doing this on purpose?

Excellent. He looks fantastic.

He'll need a few paint apps to be more show accurate, and he'll be perfect. The show accurate hands are a really nice feature, awesome that they included them.

You guys want show accuracy, then kiss it. Save for colors, beast characters are practicaly impossible to make completely show accurate unless you want a non-transforming figure, ESPECIALY in Dinobot's case. The beast modes are almost always bound to have some robot kibble poking out somewhere, but I think you guys could at least be thankful that said kibble is far less noticable on this new figure compared to his original. Now the colors... I could ALMOST live with if not for the awkward contrast between yellow and brown.

I am not digging the beast wars molds. Maybe they just look too weird for my taste. Vehicles transforming into robots...Plausible. Animals transforming into robots...Impossible.

But I see where you're coming from. The organic animal to robot thing had to grow on me. I hope Hastak releases some of the transmetal figures in the updated Universe fashion.

Well, I'm of the opposite end of the spectrum, I prefer animal transformers, and BW's always had my favorite figures. I hope we get a new Rattrap, Rhinox and Tarantulas also. :mrgreen:
