New Transformers Trailer reaction thread
Watched the trailer over and over again. Love Starscream and Barricade. Put the sucka on my PSP as well. I think the classic transforming sound should be applied to only fast transforms and not when they slow-mo it.

If you listen carefully, you can hear the sound when starscream transforms just before he lands to get medevil on those cars! Its sped up but its there and its G1!

The only actual speed scene was where OP transform where we fully hear the transforming sound. We gonna have to wait till the movie comes out to see and hear the real-speed transforming of others.

That said, holy s*** that looks nice.
He obviously has some talent otherwise he wouldnt be able to make a film that would make you go "holy ****!"
Me thinsk Bay deserves less blasting and more credit.
There's a world of differience between a trailer that blows me away and a MOVIE that blows me away. I thought that Independance Day would be great from the trailer too. I was younger then.

Man, Prime makes that movie, can't wait!
The toys are ugly, Megatron isn't...right, neither is Starscream, but this movie has their spirit, so there's hope after all, that this movie won't be a complete let down.
I think it's going to be OK, and a lot better in the future.

Typical human ignorance never seems to amaze me! Bumblebee is way too big. Jazz is too small. Jazz also gets crushed by Megatron like a little fly. Their designs are still wrong.
Don't hear any of the robots speak yet. Just the humans. Some of their lines like Shia's and Tyrese are plain stupid which they say on the trailer. "It's a robot... Y'know like a super-advanced robot... It's probably Japanese."
"Bring It."
"He's like an angel!" "He's not gonna hurt you!"
Bet that's just an added sound on the trailer when Prime transforms. My bet his transformation will sound like all the other bots on the trailer. This is all just hype to fool people like Spiderman 3.

Give me a break. You're either a cartoon fanboy or some college intellectual that can't get his standards lower than Shakespeare.
What do you want with this? Don't say cartoon designs, and don't say intelligent dialogue. This is a summer block buster, not a french film festival.
Being shocked at any changed at this point is so lame.

Buy my RiD toys! They're awesome, I promise!!!!

You almost make it sound like a crime for the designs to be a little closer to the cartoon or to have intelligent dialogue.
Way to lower your standards... and by watching it, supporting the idea that doing whatever they wanted with little consideration of the source is "good enough".
Why do so many people in modern culture not demand excellence with entertainment products? It boggles my mind.
Everyone talks like they're spokesmen for movie writers trying to pitch a concept, literally gushing with overly apologetic excuses for inferior actions.
...gives me a headache...

And... you're probably right.
Guess I gave up on Hollywood a long time ago.
I just want to chow down on fatty snacks and have my ears blown out with mindless action. I mean seriously, how much better could it have been? It would have been the same movie with the cartoon designs. It would have been the same movie with better dialogue. They went the silly route. In 10 years, the serious route would probably seem worse.
It is too bad though. TF's still haven't gotten the respect they deserve. But at the end of the day, what do we really want from them?
There're so much better places to find true quality. Most of them are between pages of paper. This is just celluloid. It's all about perspective.

Unfortunately, it's becoming clearer towards release time that you're the majority, while I'm just a teensy minority.

Hollywood is so dead and buried these days.

Heh, took me a while to come to my senses. I never led a tear for a movie in all my life and just thinking about the movie blows me away. Yeah I don't like the designs of some bots and the mouth of Prime is still horrible but Starscream, Ironhide and Bumblebee are on my favorite list and they rock.
I'm glad that this movie has gone much higher then I expected and I'm glad that this movie is made at all because it's done superbly and the people who never liked trasnformers will say after watching '' Wow some movie!''

I dislike the designs, and I have from the moment I saw them. Still, I do appreciate their attempts to have some similarities to their source.
Still, I said the same thing when BW started, and it's become a classic to me. Hell, I'm kinda digging Armada these days.
New continuity, new characters. My only reservation is that this is a Bay film after all, and I'm worried about the plot. At least I know I'll be entertained by big kabooms.
I remain more or less neutral - trailers are put together to make a film look good. This isn't indicative of anything save that the SFX are going to be very, very nice.
I'll still be in my theatre opening day, fingers crossed.

And what's wrong with Sam telling Sector Seven that Bumblebee's not dangerous instead of just sitting there watching them electrocute him? And I didn't hear "He's like an angel!" at all. I heard Sam yelling "Nooo! He's not gonna hurt you!"

I'm sure. Just because I'm not this mad anymore doesn't mean that I'm going to fault anyone for still being pissed at how the bots look. They're lumpy and weird looking. Prime has a mouth and Starscream and Bumblebee don't, and we all know that there will proabably be way too much bad story involving the humans. I'm over it. I'll sit through the crap with the soldier's family and Sam's relationship with his dad, because there WILL be giant robots beating the crap out of each other at least SOME of the time (even if they're weird looking). Plus there's a hot girl. A really hot girl. That's already more than any of the Spider-Man movies have done for me.
