That is pretty unbelievable -- I still keep waiting to read the post where you type, "Hhahaha jk they fixed it and sent me '08 BB to boot!" And to steal someone's Shockblast?! Hasbro is just plain evil.

I recommend giving them a piece of your mind via telephone and sending a very angry (but civil) letter, even if naught will come of it.

And if naught does come of it, then at least you can say: "HAHA!!! I wrote "I hate you" on a post card & sent it to Hasbro!!!"

trust me, my dad is furious, he is gonna do the only thing in this situation thats in true canadian style: write an angry letter! and, no, i will never say that i got a new one and an 08 to boot because that's what the topic wouldve been in teh first place!

Aargh, similar thing happened to me once. I accidentally broke the Trans-mutate leg that came with BW10 Rhinox, and they told me to send the whole thing in and they'd replace it. Only... they sent me BW10 Megatron instead. Ugh, what a useless figure. Pretty, but pointless.

Needless to say my brother was pissed. I had to hunt down Rhinox at a Kay-Bee and buy him again, plus $5 more. (Kay-bee sucks, no wonder they're going out of business!)

Ok, settle down girls & boys, I'm about to tell you the story of Hasbro.


In 1923, two brothers — Henry and Helal Hassenfeld - thought it would be a swell idea to make a company selling the best, most wonderful gifts for children & to sell them at excruciatingly high prices. So these brothers set about their business, & one day met a soldier caller Mr Joe. Mr Joe was a fine man, some would even say he was the real American hero. So Mr Joe & The Hassenfeld brothers sat down & talked about what they were going to do, when another American hero joined in the discussion. Mr Prime was a very large man, & his friends, a gang called the transformers, wanted to help out the two brothers anyway they could, it was after all the Autobot way. You complain about Sto-Vo-Kor getting Ultimate Bumblebee for $20.00 and claimed he should know better.

Yet you support this? I could see him buying a brand new one at the same store and using the new receipt to return the broken one... but to actually take it to a competitor and drive their costs up with yet another item they can't sell?

....I seriously don't get you sometimes.

And Tyler...the return policy at TRU is 90 days with receipt in US stores, and according to TRU's Canadian site, it's 45 days with receipt to return online purchases in store. (however, I'm pretty sure that in store purchases are 90 days as that's the company policy.)

All that being said...you could've returned him to the store and at least gotten your money back. Learn from this mistake, never send an item back to Hasbro in the future. It's a worthless move.

So erm if you wanted to keep the thread alive, we could always come up with fake stories about Hasbro! Like the time I won that MISB Deathsaurus on eBay for $386K and before I could even open it Hasbro broke down the door and snatched it and shoved a Robot Heroes Jazz into my fly as a replacement.

Well, they aren't going belly up just yet, but over the cast few years they've had to shut down half their stores. Probably because people aren't interested in paying higher prices for older toys.
