Sure it has a few disappointments such as Wheeljack/Downshift, who would have benefited as a figure without the 'Powerlink' gimmick that i am personally not that fond of. I also agree that Ironhide was absolutely rubbish.

The Decepticon molds definitely shine in this line, i have Megatron, Starscream (both versions), Mega Zarak (the best of the Scorponoks available), Mirage (seriously underrated mold) and Shockblast. My favourite Autobot would have to be Overdrive/Cliffjumper....he was much larger than i expected.

Also, i am hunting for Energon/Superlink Galvatron, he has eluded me thus far. :-x

Get the Energon version, not the Superlink version. Energon is VASTLY superior in almost every way.

On another note...can we not soundly debunk the original post that says people "Hate Energon"?

Yup. Final Verdict: Energon is a Great line, and apparently very few people if any hate it.

BTW, anybody else have problems with Energon Barricade's Bruticus' Head just falling off?. The panel that holds the head is not connected to anything on mine. I might have broken off the part that surrounds the pin, unless that's the way its supposed to be.

Hm, I'm really in two minds on this one. While I havn't picked up Galvatron as yet I've got Megatron in both sizes and the smaller version just blows the larger one away. It's not just the better colours, I tend to find that the legs don't support the increased weight all that well on the Hasbro version. Without any real posability in the legs to begin with that pretty much leaves his only option as standing up legs straight. I know that the Energon Galvatron looks nicer colourwise than the Superlink Galvatron General but I don't know if I can bring myself to part with cash on the larger mould again. Add to that the fact that the toy was designed to be made in the smaller size and that it just feels more 'right' at that scale. Either way getting recolours of moulds that are already on my shelves is a seriously low priority at the moment and probably will be until the old cash flow picks up in the new year.

Now that I've seen more of that toy line, I realized something. That I need a new place to store my Transformers. I've got to get me some more of the Transformers in the Energon line.

Yeah it was a rather silly thing to say, the Energon/Superlink line is not the best line ever created, but I would barely say that it is a generally hated line.

i guess people tend to judge a fleet by its flagship, thus IMHO all the purported "hate" for the Energon line is probably due to its flagbearer, Grand Convoy (or Fatimus Prime, whatever you may call it).

but in reality, the beauty of this toy is not in the aesthetics, but in it's gimmicks, in this case its ability to "powerlink" with its components as well as even with the other TFs like Wing Saber and Omega Supreme.

definitely a good line, no Force Chips to lose like Galaxy Force/Cybertron.

Instead you have Energon stars, and weird weaponry to loose.

Anyway, anybody have that problem I described with my Energon Barricade?

Word up.

Energon was a Massive line...Very few things in it did not see a repaint.

Yeah, and it was around forever......Sometimes it seemed like Energon would never end. I've already stated my happy feelings towards the line, but man it hung in there for a real long time.

I'm going from memory here since my Energon figures are in storage, but if you fiddle with the plastic around the pin where the panel connects to you can might be able to make it stay better. I had that problem with mine. It might be easier if we had pics of what you are talking about too.

Mine does the same thing, but since I'll prob. never get the rest of his combiner buddies I just leave it off. This has the added benefit of letting his backpack fold up tighter against his back, reducing the kibble factor by 31.83%. (I measured.)

I heart this fig, BTW, awesome robot mode! Looks weird standing w/ movie Barricade tho, it's like all the movie versions are saying, "Who the hell are you supposed to be?!" :P

Energon, like all lines had its hits and its misses.

Quite frankly, the overall quality of design was vastly superior to Armada, but nearly all the Autobots were ruined by their combining gimick, the only exception I can think of being Towline, who was fab.

The Decepticons were all pretty good (at least the ones Ive got are), Megatron was excelent, and I curse Hasblo UK for never giving Galvatron, who just looks spot f***ing on (same goes for Cybertron Galvatron).

I think Energon's biggest weakness though is simply that in every way Cybertron was better.

Oh, and the Energon tv show was bloody dire, they even ruined the theme tune.

I actualy realy liked Energon! The toys where super detailed. They had great articulation, and the powerlink feature(although alittle confusing) realy added a great element to the idea of Transformers TRANSFORMING!

After Armada, it was just what we needed!

Energon was much better over all than Cybertron to me, was completely blows Animated out of the water!

The movie line shares to many bots, and is it's own entity to me, but I'm gonna say I like it about the same as Energon.

Energon started my TFs collection. That's how frigg'n cool the line still is. Sure i sold off my Energon Prime & Megatron after scoring Cybertron Prime & Galvatron, but other dan dat, i still consider many figures unique character designs. Such as: Arcee, Tidalwave, Demolisher(dumptruck), Snowcat, Slugslinger, Towline, Inferno, Rodimus, the combiners, and my favourite, Shockblast.

Energon still rocks.

So far, i only have two energon figueres, but i like them both a lot, and am glad that i got them. The first one, a universe re-packaged Windrazor found at Family dollar for just five bucks, the other, Arcee, which was won at an ebay auction for one cent! -...And worth every penny! probably my most well spent penny ever.

BTW,FWIW:

I think that those who, in another thread made a big deal/fuss about how TF energon Arcee is designed, and even went as far as to say it is "offensive", are dirty-minded perverts for seeing/thinking about it that way. :? Besides, toys are ment for kids to play with, and young kids would not be thinking about it in those ways.

[RANT ON]
Thus it is my oppinion, that these "would-be puritans" b****ing about it, only backfires on them, by showing that it is not the toy, but they themselves, that are perverse/offensive.
