Me too,I couldn't care less about the others. I'm somewhat sceptical to whether it's VW & Porsche that will change their stance but there are rumors about a Masterpiece Bumblebee following Thundercracker and Grimlock so who knows?

Funny thing is, aren't VW and Porche the same company? More amusingly still the flat-top engine in the vintage Beetle is the same design as that in the Porche911 - a popular engine swap with many vintage Beetle owners.

If one says no, so will the other.

The orginal engine for the VW beetle was designed by the founder of Porsche. The designers shares his name with the company he founded but his first name escapes me.

I really don't get the reason why they said no in first place considering a audi was used in iron man which was pretty much a film that had everything that they clam transformers had that made them not give permission to use there cars in first place.

Wait...

Doesn't BMW own VW?

And I'm pretty sure the last time I checked BMW didn't exactly approve of anything related to TFs.

Regardless, I'll poop my pants If I see a BMW Z4 in the movie.

I'd buy both. The Masterpiece BB would be like the G1 cartoon character and have an Old Beetle alt mode and the BT/Alt version could be the New Beetle version that Takara did the concept sketches for prior to VW's original refusal. In addition the Porsche Boxster Jazz proto could end up getting released so fingers crossed that the companies have a change of heart.

Incidently, the upcoming Universe Legends Jazz figure looks very similar to his original Porshe 935 alt mode

I dunno if it's close enough to require permission, but it may be a good sign.

Easy for people in Britain and America to say. We were the good guys. We get to look back at the war and think "Yeah, we kicked ass and got rid of the most evil man of modern times." Germans probably feel a little differently about it.

I think that's an urban myth. During WW2 Disney was making anti-Nazi propaganda.

It's not their fault that some crazed foreigner took over. In most cases, wasn't it a 'do as your told or you disappear' policy as well.

I love germans. They're a warm and friendly people (and great on a friday night).
I wouldn't dream of holding anything against any one of them; especially now when so few of those that were around for the wars are still with us.

It saddens me that anyone else would think to do so. It shows a certain level of ignorance.

Good and evil is a matter of opinion.

EDIT:- Fair enough. I'd only heard, and couldn't really imagine it.

I can't imagine anyone saying that WWII was the fault of modern Germany. But I can understand why Germans would still want to distance themselves from anything warlike.

Hey guys, lets get back on topic. I know the history of the whole deal is interesting, and can probably be debated for decades, but I think we need to focus on what really matters here: WHAT CAR IS GONNA BE WHAT TF BABY!!!!

I'd love to see a BMW TF, as its my all time favorite car.

I guess it's understandable, but also both kinda of odd and a shame that they feel they need to.

On topic, I would really like to see at least one of the bot bros to make a return as a lambo.

A conscience about their past is in many ways admirable but VW's bottom line should be their profits and if you consider how much free publicity they'd get from having their cars in the TF movies and toy lines then it seems daft for them to turn away such an opportunity to make some serious cash.

It could be that it's Porsche (which owns VW and Audi) and BMW that gave Hasbro the license.
Why?
Cos they are cutting jobs in Germany and replacing them with workers in the US, face it chaps you've just become the new "cheap production" country, and why? Cos the Us market doesn't give enough money, since the dollar is so weak.
So they need publicity to sell the cars in the US.
Damn you USA and your cheap workers and weak currency!

But this is just a possibility, cos I think Opel sold the license to Hasbro, cos Opel now belongs to some other inferior car manufacturer, they are no longer a German company.

So we may see Bumblebee or Jazz or one of the bros in there old glory.
Or a Opel Astra TF, which would suck.

Man I would really like a Ferrari TF!

Trust me, some companies are paranoid of public image in Germany, especially if they did make war machines for Nazi Germany, stuff like that can be hard to shake off, I doubt we'll any endorsements from them anytime soon...

Porsche and Volkswagon are going through a powerstruggle right now. Presently, Volkswagon owns a majority of the two. Porsche would like it to be the other way around. A deal is likely to be reached soon. If Porsche owns the majority, then their views may be different about licensing their cars for toys.

No, Porsche is now the majority share holder of Volkswagen, the problem and the reason of the power struggle is that there is this thing called the Volkswagen law in Germany, which says that nobody, no matter how much of the shares he holds can have more power over Volkswagen then some one who has 20%, and that the state can still put in there veto on every decision relating to what VW or it's share holders do.
This was made to protect VW from being bought up by a alien company, but there is currently talk about it being against the constitution and is being rewritten. Meaning that Porsche will soon have full control over VW.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I did see that the city of Stuttgart owns a portion of VW. I wonder if that may be the 20% that you were referring to, because in recent article that read indicated taht secret meetings are going on with Porsce and the Stuttgart government.
