Does anyone else here that store exclusives suck? I've been looking for US MP SS forever at at least 4 WM's in my general area (20 mile radius) and got nada. This also happened to me with the Target exclusive BB two pack and Robo Prime.
Can't we just get toys everywhere and not have to worry about going to one store, who by the way NEVER puts the dang exclusives online?
Maybe its just me, but its frustrating as heck when one store in another state has shelf warmers and here theres barren shelves.

But just like most good toys, it's fair game for scalpers.
I'm in the same boat for Masterpiece Starscream, but I have a feeling if it was in other stores scalpers would have snatched them up.

It is very frustrating, but it also makes it more exciting when you actually find one!
Personaly, I dont care if the figures I own have any value, but there are many who do. For those people, this sittuation adds value to their figs, and continues the sought after collectibility of these figs. It is very frustrating, but in this day and age, if you want it bad enough you can always get it on ebay.

The situation with store exclusives in the UK has improved somewhat over the last year or so. Some make it over here as an exclusive, rarely with the same chain as in the US, but now that Walmart own Asda that's starting to change. Some make it to general retail, we're currently awash with Thundercracker and Rescue Ratchet (those were exclusives in the US weren't they? or was that just the G1 Starscream deco that I'm thinking of?) and some we still never see.
Getting hold of items like the KB Cyclonus and Demolisher from Energon can be a pain when you're relying on ebay or importers.
The big one at the momment over here is Masterpiece Starscream. I'm half way sure that Asda will start carrying these in the not too distant future so I'm holding off on importing one for the momment. Let's hope that that doesn't prove to be a costly mistake in the long run.

Scalpers is one thing, but when you contact stores and they say they never had the item in stock, thats another. It just irks me sometimes. Im really ticked now though cause my wife lost my 20th DVD Primes head and I got him off Ebay. Now I got a headless Prime.

g1 recolor starscream is the exclusive. Thundercracker and RR aren't...luckily. The bumblebee two-pack was surprisingly on the selves and was overly stocked the first two weeks it came out, after that, they literally disappeared. I think it's because target took them off the floor cause they were discontinued. Roboprime sold out the first day; I knew I should have nab it instead of the BB two-pack.

Yea, if I knew Robovision was that exclusive and tough to get ahold of, I would have probably picked up a couple when I saw them. There was a shelf full at a local target when they came out, but I don't like the mold.

I don't care for the concept of exclusives in general. I dislike the idea that something can only be bought at a specific location.

"We, Decepticons, are a swell bunch. And boy do we have fun." - Starscream
"You're one of...those, Never understood why any self respecting Decepticon would choose auto-mobile as his vehicle mode when he could have flight." - Starscream
"For a guy hearing voices of the dead, you've got a pretty insensitive view of Mental Health" - Bumblebee

I feel the same way about store exclusives as I do about Botcon exclusives: if it's something that is really only going to be a must have for a few people (two packs of previously released characters, for example), fine. But when it's something with such massive appeal as MP Screamer, or Classics Thundercracker, I think it's a bit of a slap in the face to all the fans who won't be able to get it.

For anyone who hasn't seen Spotlight: Sledge (and why not?!), my gritty and dark fanfiction piece "Holiday" is posted here.

I myself don’t like target exclusives and I have a target near me! Most of the time they sellout in about a week or two, so if an exclusive is coming out you want, you have to have the money saved for it, because it’ll be gone if you don’t. Otherwise I don’t mind them, they’re a bit of a pain, but I can get the ones I really want, besides I have most the stores around me they’re exclusive to anyway.

it took me awhile to find the 2-pack bumblebee set and they were hiding. In my entire region, we only have one Target and 3 Wal-Marts.

I'm ok with store exclusives as long as manage to get one!
Seriously, I think store exclusives at least give us a chance to see figures issued that Hasbro may otherwise be hesitant to release in major retailers or at all. For instance, considering higher end figures like 20th Prime and Cybertron Primus became shelfwarmers at many locations, it wouldn't be surprising to see stores like Target or TRU balk at a figure like MP Starscream. So if it comes to down releasing it at one retailer(like Wal-Mart) or not at all, it's safe to say we prefer the former to not getting anything or going through Takara.
