Last early March, I went to my local TrU for some TF browsing after work. I found BH Prowl at 10$ so, meh, why not? I snatched him up. On the bus ride back, I unpacked him and Transformed him into car mode. (Yes, I transform freshly purchased TFs in a public bus often. Haters gonna hate.) My stop. I get out and throw the packaging in the nearest public trashbin. Remember that it's March and in Québec, there's still lots of snow everywhere. It's night. A dark night. I walk home. Only thing left is to plug the missile launcher on the car. OF COURSE THE MISSILE HAVE TO FLY OFF INTO THE DARKNESS. A gray missile. Flew off. In the grayish-brownish sludge that cover the sidewalks and streets. I curse a lot and try to find that needle in that humongous haystack. Of course, I gave up and went home. One more TF with a missing missile. Just great. A brand new one to boot. Sigh........
This morning, May 7th, 5:35AM. I go to my bus stop to go to work. I fiddle for something in my backpack. My eyes are down so the ground cover my view. Something odd in a sidewalk crack. THAT GODDAMN BH PROLW MISSILE! I just have to blow a bit on the thing to clean it! Well, talk about luck! That missile could have been plown away or have been washed down a drain... but no, it waited all this time to be found again!

G1 TC. Kept the landing gear into his cockpit. Kept it in a display cabinet. Checked on it and it was gone. Lost the front landing gear. D@mn!
Few weeks later it showed up near his foot in the same cabinet. Btw, no one has access to the cabinet............Twilight Zone weird/spooky.
And another incident with my Encore Devastator. Lost one of his fist due to an unauthorized rocket punch (about a year or so, replaced the fist with that of the KO). It later showed up in my room under my Dreamcast.......go figure.

My latest story isn't exactly unexpected, but it's still good for a laugh.
I kind of have a problem with "unauthorised missile fire" when fiddling with my toys and in a big messy room, that's asking for trouble. Sadly, that's what happened with Vertebreak: I was playing with him at my desk and I accidentally fired his missile and I didn't see where it landed. Being the kind of person that I am, I panicked and for the next few days I turned half of the room upside down looking far for that little thing. When I finally moved the stack closest to my desk: *plonk* there it was.
O well, the room needed reorganising anyway.

Not many Lost & Found stories.
Come on, guys, this **** happen to everyone!
Might as well share another one.
Back when I was first collecting and my shelves were barren, I bought Animated Starscream off Ebay for cheap for my Starscream collection. I receive it and i fiddle with it. Kinda disapointed that the thing look bad in jet mode and it's not fun to transform because of all those annoying parts like the back panels and hands that keep detaching. So, I put it on display on one of my top shelf.
One day, I'm back from workand found Animated Starscream fallen to the ground. One of his missile and one hand, gone. One of my cats probably played with the parts until they entered the X-zone. So, what to do? Order another cheap Animated Starscream of Ebay, of course.
Some weeks later, I receive my new Animated Starscream and I display it in a more stable pose. Barely 2 or 3 days later, I hear one of my cats playing with something. I see that it's a Animated Starscream missile! The one on the shelf still have his two. So, that mean the lost missile is found. Finally, 4 or 5 days later, I yet again hear my cat playing with a thing... It's Starscream's hand!
For years I had two Animated Starscream that were 100% completed. I finally traded my spare just recently.

These kind of things happen so often to me that it's hard to single out any one instance. Hell I could write a book about the nonsensical way I'm constantly loosing and finding stuff in this house, especially the ever ludicrous "found it while I was looking for something else I just lost" chains.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
I'm a killjoy, and proud of it!
don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...

Re: That TF or accessory or part you have LOST......... then found back unexpectedly.
Done this a few times. Missiles are obviously the number one concern but I have had some other fails.
On time as a kid I took G1 Scourge with me when my parents went furniture shopping and his head-cannon thing fell off. Sobbing, I managed to convince my parents to do another lap of the store to look for it. After that they told me of the harsh reality that sometimes things get lost but when we returned to the car it was in the door compartment. Weird. Convinced me not to carry around a TF that had losable parts again.
About a year later my parents took me on a trip that they knew would bore me to tears but they didn't really have anyone to leave me with so they spoiled me all weekend. One thing they got me was G1 Aquablast. With his huge honking cannon and no other removable parts I knew I couldn't lose anything. Except that while walking in the dark a chunk of his head bafflingly cracked and fell off. In the dark. On a gravelly road. My dad's exactly the type of guy who carries a torch though so against all odds we found a chunk of black plastic on a black gravel road. My dad didn't have plastic glue on him though. That was in his luggage.
The only time this has happened to me as an adult was with Rail Racer's black missile. Sure I've lost parts but have usually been able to find them within the hour. Since Rail Racer is such an awesome set I went nuts trying to find it, searching every box and crate I had, even looking in my stash of unidentified missiles in case I'd accidentally put it in there despite its distinctive shape. A month or two later (thankfully before I tried to re-buy it) when we were moving out of that apartment I found it under a mattress on the opposite side of the room.

I bought SDCC Metroplex on ebay and picked it up locally. My friend and I start fiddling with it that night and the stupid missile flies off into the unknown. We tried to find it, but it didn't show up that night.
2 weeks later my cat comes up to me with the missile in his mouth. I'm still not sure how to process that.

Micron Legend Ultra Magnus. D@mn unauthorized missile fire again (same location where I lost my Devastator fist).
Purple version Takara Tidalwave...........again with the missile firing.........f*ck! It won't hold in place so I just left it in the box after an unauthorized launch.
Shows up 2 days later in a place I searched already. Really! Something/someone enjoys seeing me sweat my @ss searching
So maybe aside from poking a kid's eye, I can find one negative with Tomy/Takara version of a TF figure...........functional missile launchers.
