They are not overpriced Classics, because they're not Classics. I have them, I think they are awesome, but they are not official Classics. But if you have an extra 200 bucks lying around try to pick up either Thrust or Thundercracker very cool figures.

Or throw down 40 on a Bugbite, you can't go wrong with Bugbite. ;;)

The Classics line is realy the best line since...

:-? .... :???:

Well, I realy can't say!?!

All the lines have their gems, but it seems Classics is for the most part all gem.

My complaints on it though are, Grimlock, they almost had him right, but the dino head legs just hurt an otherwise great homage.

Jetfire, all loaded up stands for crap :-x

Megs green light piping, and Primes arm kibble kill otherwise terrific characters.

But most importantly, the quality in the paint aps, BB's face is chipped, SS's don't line up(on 3 versions), and hell my AstroTrain has a fingerprint on his leg :???:

Otherwise, awesome line all the way around :-P

Fortunately, it looks like the upcoming Animated version transformers properly.

Might need to see if I can switch his head though. :-?

No his face is still mat gray (at least on the ones I've seen)but he has a better face mold. I'm not sure if it, but I think it was a running change everywhere.

I bet TM Megs is missing his weapon :P

Still, you gotta watch, I'm noticing that for some reason same name characters are featuring different head attachments from one mold to the next.

Cant help but wonder why that is :???:

My understanding is that the Starscream remold is limited to the bottom portion and back of the air intakes on his shoulders. The angle of the bottom piece was changed slightly. The first person to discover this was someone who put Skywarp's head on Starscream's body, which is why the heads look different in the two pics. The heads are the same, but Skywarp's face is painted silver while Starscream's is unpainted grey plastic; the silver paint brings out the facial details better.

Ramjet still rules cause i did pass up like 20 til i found my perfect 1  .
Still look at Rodimus with much respect.
I'm 1 of da few who's still not interested on classics JetFire. Not dat his G1 story isn't 1 of da coolest there ever is, ever was, & ever will be. I'm just content with Cybertron Jetfire instead. :)
The rest still doesn't appeal2me. Especially Astrotrain. He's supposed 2 be at least like Tidalwave's size :-x .
Energon Prowl has Chinese characters on him. I'm Chinese.
Still wish they'd come out with d original new mold G1 Devastator and Perceptor(rather not chase down d Japan exclusive :P ) and many other large TFs who still need an updated look :? .
Just found out the redo SS. Still super :-x . Probably for quite a while until i get him...

I really like all the classics I bought. I suppose I'll go through them in no particular order.

Astrotrain: I've always wanted a replacement Astrtrain. I have one very vivid memory of child me having a VERY hard time transforming him thanks to those feet of his (I was 5 or 6 at the time). The new one is very nice. Wish they went with the cartoon colors, though. I also don't see why people complain about the train mode ... it may not be the best of the three modes, but it's still pretty convincing. The only thing wrong with him is that his arms are kinda loose.

Rodimus: Outshined by the Kiss Players Roddy I got shortly later. But he really is a great version of G1 Roddy. He has his look down completely. Looks great holding G1's guns. But WAY short arms.

Bumblebee: The bee needed this. He's had PLENTY of toys, but most of them are his G1 toy ... this is quite possibly the best G1 Bee to date. VERY tempted to get Bug Bite. He's articulate, has all the toon elements he really needs ... looks like an alternator ... and he has a nice smile on his face.

Jetfire: One of the best Classics, but ... his legs (and those of other classics) only twist at the lower leg. So he can't pull off as many dynamic poses. Also, his feet aren't suited for it either. Still, he's a double homage and is really awsome to look at. The removable armor bits are nice.

Mirage: He's VERY posable. VERY sleek. Looks like an alien. I really like this guy.

Skywarp: I bought him off ebay without Magnus. I passed on Screamer entirely since I chose to get MP Screamer. He's an awsome mold, his colors are really dynamic ... the only thing off is a HUGE gap on his hundercarrage in jet mode! Such a pity. It ruins his sleek design. Well .... almost. He makes up for it by being very cartoon-inspired and tough looking.

Funtastic fact! Skywarp's plane mode is the same size as a Robot Master Seeker's plan mode! HOWEVER, when you transform them, Classics Skywarp stands taller and MUCH buffer than RM Skywarp!

Ramjet: Got him on a whim since Toyrs R Us brought out their past product. He's a nice little guy, but his face being visible in jet mode REALLY bugs me. It's like a gobot ... I hated visible faces like that.

Grimlock: Best Grimlock to date! Or he would be if he didn't have all those dman assembly errors! And his head is, oddly, a slightly different shade of grey than his body. Truly, it's a shame because I really like him. Except for the short lower arms.

Megatron: Never got him. I mean .... he's too ..... purple. And green. I'm hoping the Takara version will have slicker colors. I don't even mind the Nerf look. He's not based off a toy, he's "Cybertronian"!

Well, so far I only have Astrotrain, Bumblebee and Megatron from Classics. Out of those three, I love BB and Megs.

BB's robot mode is simply the best G1-style BB robot mode ever, beyond a shadow of a doubt. It captures the look brilliantly, and has great articulation for a figure of that size. The jetpack makes a nice little addition if you want to use it, too. I wish his vehicle mode could be a VW Beetle, but the one he's got still works.

Megs is just fun. Really. I don't think I'm alone when I admit to pointing his gun mode at many an object in my bedroom. Sure, it's a toy gun mode, but such guns are designed for play, and I think this captures such a notion brilliantly. His robot mode happens to be good fun owing to the massive fusion cannon of doom (a bit of a shame that he can't hold it G1-cartoon style, but I actually find the way he's got it on this toy to make more sense) and some surprising posability. I thpought the joints were going to be much too tight at first, but he has great balance for the sorts of poses I want. Heck, I don't even mind the colours apart from the orange (which I'll probably repaint at some point). Purple and green both suit him, in my opinion.

Classics of the Classics line?

Geez, it's hard to really define a 'Classic' toy from a line that had, what, 10 different molds?

Jetfire and Megatron are the best of the Classics, IMHO. I don't care for BB or CJ....don't like the characters, and the mold is pretty neat but the lack of gun cheapens it for me, but it is a good mold really.....and all the rest are very good. Rodimus doesn't really excite me, but it's a good figure.

Thanks for info...the new one is much better, too bad I have the #1. :(

Of the classics I currently only have 4, but I might get BB and Jetfire in the future...if I find loose ones at a good price.

Megatron : Fun in both modes, the colours don't bother me too much, but i don't like the green lightpiping.

Optimus Prime : My first classics actually, both modes are okay but I prefer robot mode. Pretty good figure, it's actually my first Optimus Prime. :D

Starscream : Both modes are awesome! Robot mode is great too, fun to pose.

Grimlock : Dino mode is good, robot mode is not so much. I hate his feet and arms in bot mode. I regret paying $17 (Canadian price) for him new but a decent toy overall still, a bit hard to pose though.

true, but considering that this line was only a "filler" line, i think the designers did a GREAT job of conveying G1-nishness (is there even such a word? :P ) in these line of toys. years from now we'll all look back and see that this is one of Hasbro/Takara's rare "genius!" ideas LOL.

Word so far has included Magnus, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Octane, and I don't remember what else. Hopefully we'll see more of the G1 season 1 Autobots show up, like Hound, Brawn and Windcharger.

the Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mold looks really good judging from the early sketches. really faithful to their G1 counterparts. i'm holding out for these and hoping that Hasbro won't screw up this time qith QC issues.

haha why all the hate for Rodimus?

I'd say that not only is Jetfire the best of the classics, but possibly one of the best figures of all time (all things considered).

I like the Rodimus classics toy. I think he is extremely good.

I was bitterly disappointed with Grimlock.

Ramjet is a good deal, and I am still trying to find Starscream. :(

Astrotrain I found to be awful though.

There shouldn't be any hate for Rodimus. He really is a solid excellent figure. I can't say I'm really into his alt mode, but it does pay a good homage to the G1 rodimus. His bot mode is what made me get him, he just looks fantastic. his head mold is nice, he's well proportioned, looks sporty, and i love the "wings"

Never been much of a conehead fan though :???: . They're not very aesthetically pleasing to me, but that's just me :P

I said that rodimus is the least favorite classic I have. i never said I didn't like him. He is a good and nice figure, but he can't compare to the others. Most of the classics line is really really nice, I have no other of descrinbing it.. they're superior I guess...I like rodimus, compared to bumblebee, I like bumblebee more...

i was disappointed with grimlock too, he's the dud of the line with all those problems, arms don't lock into place, and theheels as feet.
