i dunno about Hasbro? but Takara have already recently done a kind of homage to the BW with the CW figures with Tripredicus

Urm who is doing tripredicus cw? As it's certainly not takara!

As for beast wars returns, not sure if hasbro would use that name as that's what beast machines was called in Japan (they also got it a lot later then everywhere else as it debuted in 2004...I think)

But maybe the third part of prime wars will give us more beasts. Then there is always 2018-2019 main line

Because it's funpub operating under license from Hasbro. Hasbro have nothing to do with this except from offering moulds for funpub to choose from, and manufacturing but everything else is funpub.

Now, part of the allure of Botcon is the exclusives like these, figures made in a limited run and that you simply can't get from anywhere else*

I don't remember anyone wishing for a "better" Unicron. Amazon Unicron is pretty much perfection incarnate.

Beside, even if that 3P figure is great looking, it's BEAST WARS NEO Unicron. He's different, but one thing totally RUIN this figure:



What in the flying HELL? What were they thinking, puting the ring in this position? It's like puting the wheels flat on a car's rooftop in vehicle mode for crying out loud!

Three things:

1) this isn't the place for 3p stuff, and unicron is really great for the price. I had him for a while (had to give him up for financial reasons. It was a very hard decision to make)

2) that ring is in a really silly place and proves that there is a big problem with translating that design into real life.

3) that ring is in a REALLY silly place.

Now I know that's technically only two reasons but the last one was so important, I thought it was worth mentioning twice. Why 3p when hastak have already given you gold (if I could get my hands on that lucky draw unicron.... )

Funny you mention that, I was planning on taking Combiner Wars Trailbreaker, repainting him and giving him a new head and lightbar to make him into Strongarm. I say Trailbreaker because he has the 5mm port on his arm that you can plug the (unique!) handfootgun into...meaning Strongarm will be able to have a strong arm.

i'd love to see some cowboy Transformers

--Cassette combiners, like Slamdance and Squawkbox, but also a bunch of new ones. And have them all be interchangeable, Powerlinx-style.

--Duocons and Duobots. Same deal with the cassettes: do the classic characters, then make new ones and have them all be interchangeable.

This can be Hasbro's 2017 line, and we can call it "Split-up Guy Wars." And we can finally, for the love of God, skip making another Optimus Prime.


(Not that I'm complaining about PM Prime; that's one of the few figures I'm drooling over for the coming year.)

A life-size piloted Trypticon Mech based off Knifehead from Pacific Rim, that turns into a giant shark-shaped submersible and dragon-spaceship. With a life-size city plates to stomp around in!

Gray CW Shockwave, a dual homage to Animated Shockwave and the Astro Magnum that G1 Shockwave was made from. If they act quick, maybe they can replace the half-assed "Action Master" Shockwave in CWG2 Bruticus with this.

Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx for RiD or whatever comes after (if it's in the same continuity).

Titans Return "Mechatron" with "Megabolt" headmaster. "Mechatron" turns into Megatron's spaceship mode from Season 2 of Beast Machines, "Megabolt"'s head mode is modeled on the Big Floating Head and its robot mode looks like BW/BM Megs.

I want to see Scorponok myself. But Leader class, which is unlikely if HasTak ever do make a Generations Scorponok. They'd probably make him a Titan. Now, the reason I want to see him as a leader class figure is because of his appearance in the comics (classic Marvel and modern IDW), where he's a big guy, yes but not a giant, and no bigger really than Powermaster Optimus Prime. Since I've always preferred the comics, I'd much rather have a Scorponok who reflects his appearance in them than in the cartoons.

I'm not even all that interested in Fort Max. Give me a Trypticon to compliment my Metroplex and I'll be happy. But Scorponok is a character who is important to me, because he had one of the best character arcs in the classic comics, which is why I'd love to have a Generations version of him. Just not an oversized and overpriced version that can only be displayed in its alt mode if you don't mind him sitting on the floor!

While I'm at it, I'd also really appreciate a set of Generations Predacons, a complete set of Dinobots, and a Shockwave who is at least a Voyager class in size. And while I'm at it, let's throw Sixshot in there (although I somehow doubt anything HasTak came up with would quite live up to Terminus Hexatron).

Well we are rumoured to get a sixshot next year but I can't remember what size class he was supposed to be, may of been leader class. Predacons we'll get eventually, and with them maybe the other animal combiners.

Scorponok is going to be titan class I'm afraid, to fit in with his rival fortress. but we are getting trypticon next year so there's that to look forward to

Oh and the dinobots? Bit strange we haven't got them yet but there's still time.

OK, super obscure territory here.

Everybody knows I love the Armada designs and want to see more Armada updates in the Generations line. And I'm sure everyone remembers how awesome Armada Scavenger's design is (his toy less so).

What I really want though is an Energon Treadbolt that's an entirely separate mold from a hypothetical new Armada Scavenger.

"But Delta!" I hear you cry. "Why would you want a no-name redeco to get its own mold?"

Because, my friend, said no-name redeco actually got a personality via Ask Vector Prime...and is technically a girl now. And fairly obviously, a straight redeco of a hypothetical updated Scavenger would not make a very convincing girl. Also I'm of the opinion that the more new molds the better.

Simple: Don't make her a traditional fembot. Whilst obviously the "Male toy with a female headsculpt" approach is exactly the wrong way to do it, there's more than one obviously feminine body type out there.

So for example, you could make her a burly Amazonian beauty...



Or a more voluptuous, "curvy in all the right places" girl...

But anyway, you get my point. Personally I'd kill for a cuddly construction cutie or a strong structural soldier sister, but that's just me.

Of course we'll never get this because the chances of Hasbro investing that much money/effort in a character who only gets any fiction at all thanks to AVP are slimmer than Legends Blackarachnia's waist. Also, even if they did do it, if they went with the plump design you'd have the usual suspects whining that they didn't make her morbidly obese and would accuse the designers of "thin privilege" or some such garbage.
