Really good list. I would have loved G1 Scorponok back in the day, however he went unreleased here

Having scrolled through the past three pages has been interesting to read too.

Personally I wouldn't include Either Trypticon in the top 5. Granted I have Generations Tryp and his "ship" and base modes are impressive in scale and detail. However, the reason I never really like him ever since G1 (Only buying the Generations toy on impulse in a sale) is because of the third mode. If Trypticon had a robot mode, I probably would have really taken to him. But as he is essentially Mecha-Godzilla with a T-Cog, I always felt he was lacking as a Transformer.

I also have TR Fort Max. I left him in Bot Mode for quite a while until I got around to applying his stickers. Then I tried his altmodes. Now due to space, my plan was to store all the City Bots in City Mode and that is still the case. Fort Max "Laying down" mode is awful. It brought to mind Optimal Optimus.. and the reasons I don't like that toy also.

As an aside, although I don't know if they count as "giant" but from my own experience, I would give honourable mentions to these two:

Armada Tidalwave really need a supreme class update. I'd even settle for an oversized KO.

I think a giant tidal wave with room for deluxe sized planes would be the best...did you hear that guys at hasbro lab? If you give a bot an aircraft carrier mode be prepared to make sure it's a very large bot...

Technically Optimal Optimus is quite alright for a supreme/giant/mega class size.
(despite how often he was humiliated or easily injured by the predacons in the series)

Didn't he get KO'd by Quickstrike? Not That is embarrassing. Personally the main reason I don't like the OO design is other that his extremely unused (some might say 'redundant' too) Beast Mode, all of his other modes were him laying down and stretching out his arms in different poses. I mean TM 2 Megatron wasn't all that great either but at least Bot and Beast Mode were separated, for the most part.

I saw some elite action masters that transformed better than oo if I'm honest but it's fine for me, if I ever start getting beast wars toys again I'll just stick to the original primal or try and track down the masterpiece version. I don't mind his tm1 form either but the original is more iconic

Agreed. Whereas Megatron's design improved dramatically in Transmetal, Primal was better in base form. His TM Beast mode looked alright, I just really didn't like the Bot Mode face.

The Vehicons were the only real highlight of the BM toyline.

The vehicons were good, especially mega Tankor, but the basics were excellent. Night Viper, Battle Unicorn, Scavenger, all awesome designs and cool toys. I am doing a list of top 10 toys Japan never got and those are a the top (simply because Hasbro doesnt have too many unique molds that didnt get japanese distribution).

Air Attack Primal is an incredible toy with two distinct modes that dont feel redundant and great gimmicks, but he isnt part of the BM toyline.

Right, gotcha! I remember now, He was the 'late release' included in the next TF toyline instead. I hated all of the Maximal designs in BM, so ugly! It is such a shame the Vehicons have been so maligned ever since. I had both sizes of Jetstorm (hence the mention above), Scavenger, Mirage and a couple others I can't recall right now.

I agree that the beasts were a bit undrwhelming in the line, but BM Blackarachnia is the best female official TF toy we ever got. Looks great in both modes and has a smart transformation that they never improved on, even for animated and the evetual Legends Blackarachnia.

I just watched a quick YouTube review. She did look pretty good. Granted, being one of my least favourite characters I wouldn't go out of my way to buy her but, it looks reasonably show accurate (obviously minus her gigantic spider legs). Which was a thing the BM toyline wasn't exactly known for.

I am thankful though to the bm toy line for the drones though, if I had the money I would work at getting each general and three-four drones to accompany them.

I did consider trying to go for the full Vehicon line back in the day. However, I no longer have the room..

Just out of curiosity, would crossovers still count as honorable mentions?

SWTF Darth Vader/Death Star just misses out on size being only as big as Armada Tidal Wave, but is still the best looking ball among the planetformers..

It could count, but I don't think he'd make it anyway because the bot mode is just a mess of shellformers kibbles and the transformation is not very user friendly. I owned it and I sold it after a while.

Noice! I always wanted the Energon Omega Supreme as a kid. He looks so awesome.

I must admit I've never liked G1 OS. His robot design is pretty damn cool, but as a Transformer he takes suspension of disbelief just too far. Like, he's a rocket base with a tank, and a rocket (which is formed from just his arms) and then the rocket takes off...and lands on another planet...and then transforms into a whole Omega Supreme again...despite being made of just his arms and the rest of his body being back on Earth. Just seems a bit...silly to me. Energon Omega at least made every part of him self-propelled. The best OS IMO is a toss up between Animated and WFC, both of which just straight up turned into spacecraft. The winner I think is Animated because the reveal of him being the Ark was awesome.
