A far simpler explanation about no one knowing of Unicron being inside the Earth would be Unicron being destroyed at the end of RotB and a post credit scene (because they're all the rage these days!) showing a small part, or "essence" (if we're going to be cheesy) growing inside Earth.

Holy cow, they did it.
They actually brought in Unicron.
The madmen...!
Okay, initially I was put off by Unicron, but the rest of the trailer looks promising enough that I am tentatively okay with it. I'm trying to temper my expectations, but those fight scenes have got me pretty excited...
Apparently Mirage has given Noah an exo-suit, as he's hanging on the back of Bumblebee's vehicle mode in the last shot of the trailer. I'm into it. That, or it's a miscolored Arcee.
Wheeljack's head fins. A Compromise, but gladly accepted. Awaiting the Studio Series toy.

And I'm fine with that. It's not like this franchise is famous for strict continuity adherence between entries. It looks like a big loud action-packed Transformers movie. As long as there's none of the awful stuff from AOE or TLK then I'm here for it.
That's how I see it too. Though personally I see it more of them simply not caring about continuity. TLK already felt like a rebooted continuity.
Regardless, it's still not a reboot of the live action franchise. A reboot of the Bayverse timeline is still Bayverse. I always felt that when fans were asking for a reboot, it was a reboot of Bayverse itself (like away from the designs and the look) not just a reboot of the continuity. Their approach just feels lazy to me. Reminds me a lot of the Shoemacker Batman films. Yeah, they're connected, kind of, whatever.

It is indeed Noah hanging off of Bumblebee. As for the Wheeljack compromise, I dislike it even more. It reminds me of when Wolverine saw his comic suit for 2 seconds, it just sounds like a bigger F you since they know what we want and they know we are not getting it. At least if Wheeljack was a completely different design, he'd just be a nameslap. Don't know if what makes sense. I never had a dog in this fight, but this compromise makes it feel wrong while I didn't care before. I'd rather just see their vision than a compromise.

Haha, but the thing is, that doesn't work either because the whole bit of Unicron was that he was tied to Pangea and it was only when you made the world look as it once was that you could make out Unicron. But look, I think all of us here have a good understanding of what's going on with those films as it's been written here a lot. There's just no caring for the continuity while also no complete divorce from the other films. I'm gonna see it as James Bond. The first trilogy was Connery, then AOE and TLK were Dalton, Bumblebee was Lazenby and this new trilogy is Roger Moore. All loosely connected but also distinct in their story and looks.

Visually looks good but the terrible music is a genuinely horrid. Don't understand why the producers and director feel the incredible need to interject music that adds nothing to the film.

I agree. Watching purely for the mindless entertainment not the plot as it seems there is no continuity or coherency.

As long as the film has continuity with itself, that's all I ask for.
I liked what I saw with the trailer, and I trust the director to deliver a fun popcorn movie. Does it have to make sense in the context of the other live action movies? Not really, since they never did before, heck, that's something the G1 cartoon was guilty of.

Ya know, it really says something when I watched the trailer and was unable to contain excitement, excitement I shared with some friends who were also stoked, and then I come here and just catching up on 8 pages of threads shows 80%+ negativity.
It really is sad.
Either way, that trailer did a ton for me. I loved it! I love what I am seeing, and this looks like it is going to be a fun ride!
Scourge's voice was awesome, Peter Dinklage lived up to my expectations. I genuinely enjoy watching those transformations. Ron Perlman is a fantastic Primal, I feel weight behind his voice, and it is great. I feel like Primal has a great opportunity to stand out here.
CGI looked much improved, and it looks like we are going to get some awesome shots.
Unicron was not expected like that at all, and that was awesome to see.
The shot of Prime in the rain looking for Transit was also really cool, I feel like that scene is going to be pretty dang good.
I also love the different music cues being used for this movie, it's new and fresh and i am enjoying it with the trailers.
Overall, tons of excitement on my end. I am beyond stoked for this.

So my wife was gone and I got bored. So I went back and looked at the actual ratio of positive vs negative posts. It's actually just a tad under 93% negative. The tears and gnashing of teeth really make me ashamed. It's sad when I have to go to Facebook to see positive feedback. So Why is that? I suspect it's because this trailer tickles the fancy of the general populace pretty darn well and may go a long way in helping people forget The Last Knight (even though it still grossed nearly two thirds of a billion dollars). The only people unhappy seem to be the whiners on here.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

I'm gonna buck a couple trends just in response to your comment:
-I am a movie-verse TF fan first and foremost, and I love this
-I unironically like TLK and what it was doing and setup, and would like to see that story concluded officially
-Bayverse Prime is my Optimus Prime.
-I avoid Facebook mostly because it is ridiculously negative (I am opposite of Cyber Bishop, I enjoy twitter and the fandom there and generally do not like Facebook fandom)
that said, you counting 93% negative truly is sad.
But I love this trailer and I love what the movie looks like i will do. so if I have to be that ray of positive, so be it.
I am excited dammit!!!!

I agree about it having a lot to offer, visually at least. It just irks me that 1 of the creators himself dismissed the source material right away in favor of social justice commentary. But I won't lie, it looks good. Dead end style drones in that Bee-diving scene seems to indicate some potential Armada influence as well

That was just the director appeasing his ESG overlords and to appeal to that mythical "modern audience" that only exist on Twitter.
Based on the movies track records, I'm sure (or hope) that to find any "message", one must really look for it.
Transformers is not Disney with their bizarre "live action" remakes, thank goodness.
I consider the Transformers movies like McDonald's. It's not that good, but it's still satisfying to eat. Bee's was especially delicious so my expectations are high-ish for ROTB.

Bayverse films have messages?Based on the movies track records, I'm sure (or hope) that to find any "message", one must really look for it.

Like I wrote before, I'm sure I'll hear about it in another month. I might look at it on streaming somewhere once it's available, strictly for the Transformers aspects. Assuming it will be more than 50% of the movie.I consider the Transformers movies like McDonald's. It's not that good, but it's still satisfying to eat. Bee's was especially delicious so my expectations are high-ish for ROTB.

You don't know what is ESG?
The TlDr is it's an organisation that lend BILLIONS of dollars everywhere, all over the world, but at the condition that your company is "active socially" and "send the right message."
This is not the thread to discuss this, but look it up on Google or Youtube. You'll see how insane that is.
Oh and as for the Bayverse movie "message", it's easy: BUY STUFF!

Back to the actual movie, I look forward to hearing other characters finally speak.
In terms of characters we have heard so far, we have Prime, Mirage, Primal, Airazor, and Scourge.
In terms of characters we have yet to hear their voices, we have Wheeljack, Arcee, Cheetor, Stratosphere, Rhinox, Battletrap, Nightbird, and Transit.
Speaking of, I am so grateful this movie incorporates Stratosphere and Transit, those are 2 characters I am low-key a big fan of.

If Wheeljack sounds and talk like this infamous Urkel, I will laugh so much! Then I'll stock up on popcorn and enjoy the comments!

I trust Facebook opinions as seriously as I take the twits of Twitter. Who knows how many of those accounts are actual people with an actual opinion as opposed to bots and paid shills.
I honestly hope the movie is every bit as awesome as you think it'll be. Even more so. But I've pretty much moved on from Bayverse explosion porn. I need more substance than empty flash, and I didn't see anything that told me that this wasn't just another **** show.
