Transformers Budget for 2008

I made a list of TF's I want to buy this year so far. And man i never new it was so muhc.

Between Universe, Animated, Crossovers, Iron-Man movie stuff, G1 stuff, stuff from other TF lines, and the TFCC Seacons that are supposedly coming out, I racked up over 700 dollars worth.

I think I gotta start putting money aside for this hobby. its getting really expensive. And that's just what we've heard about so far. Who knows what other things will become available as the year rolls along.

Anybody else notice a marked spike in their TF budget this year?

Dude I dropped about 300.00 USD in the movie line alone. Mainly cuz i buy two of each I want, one to take out and one to leave MISB.

I play poker to help offset costs though. :D

Oh yeah. There's always these figures I want, and I add it up and it comes to $200, $300 and I don't know where the money'll come from. I plan to save everything for Animated and get my top toys myself and the rest is in limbo. My birthday has already gone for this year, and Christmas is far off, but I MIGHT be able to hold off with what I get myself.

Holy crap...
I just figured out with what I'm wanting to get,
it'll be $450, and that's without taxes...

BUT, it does make me feel better that I'll be able to buy all of these in stores at regular price--
I don't really want to add up what I've spent to buy 2 of each of the Classics that I have, plus the movie figures (which were all bought in-store except one).

It's just gonna be nice to spend a lot of money, but have a lot of figures to show for it.

It's a little crazy to think that in a year I'll have close to 70 figures, when originally I thought I was only going to collect Robot Heroes.

You and me both, brother!

Since June 07 when the movie toys came out, I've prob dropped over a grand easy. Gotta slow the hell down and make a list of the upcoming toys I want, and maybe some older stuff, and that's it- impulse buying kills.

I get what I want. I'd rather pay regular price now rather than regret it and pay more later.

Let's see what is to come for Lapse so far this year:

$125 Omega Supreme
$100 Sky Lynx
$35 Minibots
$150 Upcoming Quintessons
$50 two last WST Dinobots
$40 Jap Classic Megatron
$50 Jap Classic Astrotrain & Starscream
$150 Movie Premium Leader Prime, Megatron, Jazz, Ironhide, Blackout, Barricade, Bumblebee.
$470 Boxed and loose Botcon 08 set
$150 Animated figures
$100 Classic figures

That is about $1500 not counting how many unplanned G1 figures or other mass retail figures I'll be getting throughout the year. I anticipate spending another $1500 in currently unplanned TF purchases.

Yes yes it does.

However it seems by budget is low compared to others. Oh well. Of to work my butt off to make enough money to continue in this hobby.

Thankfully, my dislike of the movie line, my pick and choose attitute towards Aminated, along with my inability to find Walmart MP Starscream, has left me with a nice little TF nest egg, and I add a few bucks to it each week.

By the time Universe hits, I'll have the cash all set aside for it.

2007 was the year my TF spending spiked. In fact, I ended up borrowing from my 2008 budget money for 2007 purchases.
For 2008, I fear I'm going to reach a new high.

This week I've spent £114 on Megatron figures! (Leader, R.i.D. and Masterpiece)
It's the third Masterpiece this year for me and it's only February... I'm also buying a house just so I can put up display shelves for my collection. 15% Deposit + Transformers = well over £25,000. Can anyone beat that?

I'm trying to decide between the Voyager and Leader class versions of Animated Megatron and Bulkhead. That'll make a significant difference in my budget. :?

Of course, I'm sure I probably won't find a lot of the stuff we've seen (Classics, late Animated) until near or after next December.
Check out my books, Titanomachies and Divine Retribution, on my blog!

I'm doing bad with my budget, sold a dual core CPU for $150, that I was gonna use for a 22" LCD monitor, found some TFs on eBay and a few hours later that 150 had split down to 61 :( Damn I need a job, or to win the lotto, cuz I have so many more I need/want to buy.

Guess it's my fault for waiting so long to buy the Classics and Energon Shockblast instead of getting them when they were out.

The total that I spent on TF figures was about $1,600 so far. This year's budget is about $500 - $600...Skylynx and Omega Supreme to start with, several buys from the Universe line, Primes and Megs in different sizes from the Animated line, and a few random buys, like the TRU exclusive Wing Saber repaint.
